Big updates for iOS #Workflowy users today, including a Today widget and sharing to the Inbox from most apps. 🎉 I have enjoyed using Workflowy as a part of my hybrid analog/digital creativity system for many years now, and it keeps getting better.

Gibt es bzgl. des #Diday einen #workflowy Clone der ohne BigTech-Cloud möglichst mit #Nextcloud läuft? Probiert habe ich bisher: Joplin, Logseq, Obsidian, Nextcloudnotes und vieles mehr. Wichtig ist mir, nach alle Themen nach Subthemen kumuliert, sortieren und darstellen zu können und zusätzlich nach Erinnerungsdatum sortieren zu können. Hat jemand eine Idee?

I can add links to notes in #BearNotes from my work logs & outlines in #Workflowy, keeping the latter clean while taking advantage of the features it has that Bear does not (and visa-versa).

(I tried in the past to use Bear like a wiki/log tool and it felt like it strained my mental model. I prefer using Bear for standalone notes generally speaking.)

Using Workflowy for work logging has been tremendously helpful. Never need to recall “what did I do yesterday??”!

Workflowy funktioniert wie #RoamResearch, #Notion, #Remnote usw. als "System von Blöcken". Die Abschnitte werden als Blöcke bezeichnet, sind untereinander verknüpfbar usw., Stichwort Backlinks. (Obsidian hingegen erzeugt ein File System.)

Bei Workflowy können alle Daten aber als eine (!) #Markdown-Datei - in einem Zug - gesichert werden.

@neonpurrs While Obsidian can be configured to do this it's not specifically designed to. If a daily-entry bullet-outlined system is what you need, then either #Logseq or #Dynalist are the top of the heap. (Some people also like #Workflowy.)

#Dynalist #Outliner wird zurzeit offensichtlich nicht mehr weiter entwickelt. Der Fokus des Teams liegt auf #Obsidian.

Dynamisch entwickelt sich gerade #Workflowy. Als Betatester erhalte ich fast täglich Updates. An den "Text Lab Sessions" konzentriere ich mich zZ voll und ganz auf dieses Tool

#Workflowy feiert das 10-Jährige Ich gehöre zu den langjährigen Nutzern. Für mich immer noch DER Outliner, wobei ich Obsidian usw. nicht mehr zu den "klassischen" Outlinern zähle

Worflowy kann inzwischen Backlinks und #Kanban-Darstellungen. Und vor allem: Es wird weiterentwickelt.

#Dynalist wird leider - so wie ich sehe - nicht weiterentwickelt.

All I want from a digital knowledge assistant are these three simple things:

- ReMarkable 2's hardware
- Everying is an infinte outline.
- Handwritten and typed text are the same thing, and can swapped around with intuitive gestures.

If each of those exists separately, why is no one working on combining them in the one perfect device?

So is this true, that #Dynalist is dying or dead completely? I started using it back in 2018 and thought it was an absolutely wonderful program (WAY better than #Workflowy, its main competitor), even used it as a task/todo list for several months. Supposedly the developers are also associated with #Obsidian.

Honestly I haven’t used it much over the last couple of years because yes, Obsidian contains a lot of the functionality. Still, Dynalist is just great as a standalone outliner with everything built in, including a *free* sync backend that isn’t iCloud.

After a few days of use I can say I do like the "networked" idea because it takes out the stress and distraction of having to sort your new sub-tree somewhere.

I'm happy the "outliner" (tree style notes) space is growing.
While I knew about #Workflowy, #Dynalist, #Roam, #Transno (all proprietary), #Logseq (FOSS, but doesn't save collapsed state), today I found out about Athens research, which puts an emphasis on privacy, independence and using a real graph structure and looks super promising (besides indentation being slow so far).

I wish I didn't have to depend on proprietary #Dynalist for something as important as idea management, but I in the realm of "infinite outliners" I have found pretty much only #Dynalist and #Workflowy to usable.
