This is the graphic novel adapted from the screenplay & sticks pretty closely to the source, with some condensing & a slightly modified ending.

Illustrations are deliberately sparse (think #EddieCampbell with #AlanMoore on #FromHell) & it suits the tone. The writing captures the unhinged, hallucinogenic mood of the novel. & so, whilst this recommended, first read the novel. You’ll thank me.

I was surprised to discover that one of my favourite #authors, #WillChristopherBaer, in 2022 published a #graphicnovel adapted from the #novel of the same name, #KissMeJudas.

If you are into hard boiled #noir or twisted #thrillers with horror elements, I’d wholeheartedly recommend the entire #PhineasPoe trilogy. Baer’s writing is edgy, inventive, pacy, with just the right dose of nasty. And #PennyDreadful, the sequel to Kiss Me, is utterly unhinged, but in the best possible way.
