I’ve posted my newest monthly update about technical changes that impact the Commons community but that have not been communicated via the more ‘generic’ news updates.
The topics are discovered and compiled into a list by a (Claude Sonnet created) software tool and then filtered again by me and I rework the list into a shareable post.

It's really interesting to see which of my photos on Wikimedia Commons have been viewed the most over the past 12 months.
This was my first time using @kevin's tool. Thanks so much for developing it, Kevin. -
The annual #Fremantle History Society pub lunch is on today, and for once it's at a venue (the Plympton Hotel, now the Tradewinds) that doesn't seem to have many photos on #WikimediaCommons. I shall attempt to get there early and take some.

@brucelawson Thank you for sharing this inspiring photo. ❤️
We need more shout outs to the #womeninSTEM #womenintech!
For reference, here's the high resolution photo in #WikimediaCommons:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Margaret_Hamilton_-_restoration.jpg

Just wrote a piece of software (with help of #mistralai): a #MediaWiki CategoryDiver.
The tool is build e.g. to parse a custom given root category in #WikimediaCommons and get all subcategories (no depth limit) visualize them and return additionally a json file including all filenames in a certain category.

Feedback welcome.

I’ve been continuing this work of tagging photos of historical markers in #WikimediaCommons and 8 months in, we’ve just tagged over 4000 photos with our #Lua-powered template.
I did some analysis and I’m a bit surprised that the rate of tagging has been pretty consistent at ~500 photos per month! 📈👍️ I thought there would be diminishing returns by now, but maybe there are a few hundred more photos left to tag.
