@polpo I'm shure it's not a #CS4237B like @rasteri used for the #Wee86, so it's not acting like a Quad-Mode #AdLib / #SoundBlaster / #GeneralMidi / #Wavetable-Synth card...
Or does it?

@polpo the only feature one may miss is #SoundBlaster 16 / #GameBlaster compatibility and maybe a #PC104 version and a header for a #Gameport...
Then it would be a perfect replacement for the discontinued #CS4237B that @rasteri used on the #Wee86 & #WeeCee...

@ActionRetro C3's are hard to come by...
You may be able to find some #C7-based #industrial and #embedded boards, similar to the SBCs that @rasteri used for the #Wee86 (A #PC104-based Retro Mini PC) and #WeeCee (same concept but smaller and eith a more modern CPU) but those will be frightingly expensive.
Not shure how well #VIA made cross-generation compatibility but consider getting a #ViaNano and see if you can choke it down in the UEFI/BIOS to match C3 performance...

@flyingsaceur @polpo *nodds in agreement*
Maybe @rasteri and @foone would be interested in taking a closer look at it.
Considering they did somewhat work on the #wee86 / #WeeCee's sound solution based off #PC104 / #ISA that could be in the realm of possibilities, tho both Wee86 & WeeCee do have an RTC and only need a battery hooked up to the correct pins to just work out of the box...

@suprjami thanks to @polpo for developing the #PicoGUS because that solves a big issue I see with the #Wee86 & #WeeCee that @rasteri made:
Finding a still-in-production #ISA #Soundcard, because the #CS4237B is out of production amd whilst it's not looking as if the stocks are going to dry up soon, I think avoiding out-op-production parts as much as possible is the most sustainable way to keep it available.
OFC one could also redesign it for #PC104 too...

@nazokiyoubinbou @Javmaster I'm shure the #Book80806 and #Hand386 are commercial offerings of something someone propably cobbled together out of the need to maintain some old industrial stuff or so...
Unlike the #Wee86 and #WeeCee that #Rasteri built.
Also there are a feckton of 8086 clones and donor machines still in circulation....

I mean I'd love to target some #embedded tech like the #WeeCee or #Wee86...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJEp4ZUG7BI
So feel free to contribute to OS/1337 if you have some idea to get things shrunk down for #i486 to ≤1440kB…Cuz at this point it needs to fit #Linux #Kernel, #toybox, #dropbear (or rather #dbclient which is the #SSH-client - only functionality) and #syslinux to boot...
So that one can at least do username + password logins using SSH.

Also besides the #Hand386 there's the #Book8088 and at this point I wounder if #LGR is going to order both to show off...
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005005528944178.htmlEspechally since they are commercial products one can buy, which sadly doesn't apply to the #Wee86 & #WeeCee by @rasteri [for more or less obvious reasons that are valid ofc]...

@dosnostalgic Am I seeing this correctly?
This looks like someone looked at @rasteri's #Wee86 / #WeeCee and @violenceworks #VT69 and thought:
"How about making a #i386 - based #Cyberdeck based off new, off the shelf parts?"

@freedosproject cool.
is #SBEMU shipping with #FreeDOS [i.e. as opt-in option one can tick at installation]?Cuz not everyone might be able to get their hands on new-old-stock #SoundBlaster16-compatible chips like @rasteri did for the #WeeCee / #Wee86, much less how to solder them, so they might just be stuck with a cheap-ass office or embedded board or laptop that doesn't even have an option to shove an ISA card into.
Not to mention finding some B2C distributor for it.
