@cks Yeah, I've been doing that. And Web Developer is even better than that. If you select a block then it shows ALL of the fonts that it used.

And if you hover over the sub-font names (the lighter, smaller text that is often but not always the same as the main font) then it will highlight which bits are in which font 🙂

Still doesn't explain why Firefox was ignoring my "pretend Noto Color Emoji doesn't have ASCII character coverage" font config. Unless it doesn't support that subset of rules. (And then some of the other app behaviour confused it more)
