Wasn't interested in the original #WarOfTheRoses (1989) either.
Nor am I interested in any other matrimonial discord based movies like #KramerVsKramer (1979) even though it swept the major Oscar categories for Best Picture, Best Director & Best Actor/Actress & even though I've got a copy of it in my DVD collection.
Why? 🤔
Because I was married for 25 years before I got divorced & such movies just dredge up all kinds of BAD feelings about a relationship that was once great but then devolved into one's worst nightmare. 🤦
I give a pass to #MrsDoubtfire (1993) which is not so much about marital discord as it is about the desire of a father to remain in contact with his children following a falling out & divorce with his ex-wife.
The other movies are about the pain & agony of going thru a breakup & divorce which is hard for anyone who has been thru the experience to endure again.

Well, that's our visits to four prospective #Universities done; #Manchester, #York, #Sheffield and #Lancaster (a good #WarOfTheRoses vibe going on, yep?). Our lad is "currently" leaning towards Lancaster, with York and Sheffield tying for next place with, what was his initial preferred option but has since changed, Manchester last. Manchester would be the hardest to get into for #Physics with #Astrophysics as it's always well over-subscribed plus the highest grades required (A* in Physics and #Maths plus an A in the other (which is #ComputerScience )). He's OK with those but there will be some proper brain boxes to run against so we'll see, come next year.
Overall, all four were great uni's but especially York and Lancaster as their campuses were out of the city centres and felt like villages, with lots of amenities on site and we all had really good feelings about them.
Mrs C is fretting already and he wouldn't leave until September 2024!
