Free Software that I rely on. One per day.

Day 15:

Vokoscreen

I use my special script for daily screen recordings, but I started by using Vokoscreen, and I still use it when I want to make a more intentional screen recording (often at a faster rate like 10fps).

Vokoscreen gives me the flexibility to choose what part of the screen I want to record, frame rate, whether I want to record audio from microphone or output from the system. Which is what I need.

There is also OBS Studio, which I know some people love, and which has more options for live-streaming. But I don't do that. I record, and then I edit. So it's just more complexity than I need.

"I wonder how this would look in teal blue", I thought. Got a bit carried away in #Gimp ;) Used Select by Colour, a bit of Lasso and a brush to create a mask, and then Curves to recolour.
It's interesting that to create teal blue, you don't just increase Green and Blue, you lower Red quite dramatically too.
Also I don't understand why mkv from #vokoscreen can't be uploaded here or to Twitter. Had to fire up #OliveVideoEditor

Wenn es nur um Screenrecording mit Bild-&Tonaufnahme geht, würde ich eher ein Programm nehmen, das nur das kann. Unter #Linux gibt es da bpsw. #vokoscreen oder #kazam , für andere OS gibt es sicher ähnliche Programme, die noch einfacher sind als obs

@tux Ich habe für Bildschirmvideos / Screencasts gute Erfahrung mit #vokoscreen gemacht. Da kann man u.a. den Bildschirm in den Aufnahmeeinstellungen auswählen. Auch Kazam oder Simplescreenrecorder sind nicht schlecht.
VLC ist natürlich auch ein Superprogramm, aber nicht auf Bildschirmaufnahme spezialisiert (?)

Test #MontageVidéo non-linéaires, Shotcut (ultra limité), Openshot (me tronque mon animation, lue par tout le monde), kdenlive (OK, mais pas ergonomique et limité), et Olive. Il y a des petits bugs, soft un peu jeune, mais au niveau fonctions/ergonomie c'est incomparable avec le reste (pas testé blender le saint graal).
