I don't remember that warm comfort, that joy, that easy silence of togetherness.
I don't remember the lingering smell of sandalwood and bergamot, the crushing need, and the feeling of being fat full.
I don't remember that sharp sense of being wanted, connected and entwined, enveloped, close.
I don't remember how the time passed and how I got lost in winter's grey.
And yet I'm here, completely.

Drinking Alone Beneath the Moon
Reverence-Pavilion Mountain, Sitting Alone
Birds have vanished into deep skies.
A last cloud drifts away, all idleness.Inexhaustible, this Mountain and I
gaze at each other, it alone remaining.Li Po (Li Bai), translation by David Hinton (The Selected Poems of Li Po)

Obsidian dreams of colors.
That stretch out like skeletal fingers.
Until the sun electrified the air.
Then hue, took over
Spreading desire. Crimson roses.
Fallen stars into the sea of shamrock hills. -
looking up. seeing all the people
looking down.
cell phones screens glistening
among the waiting passengers.
what world's have you made?
or distraction did you assemble?
I'm not sad, just feeling disconnected.
so I'll look down again and write.
a little world, that someone
might visit and read. -
I put the clouds on a clothesline.
let them gently drip.
rainbows form from falling perls.
smokey laundry
crying itself to sleep.
until it's dry again. -
today I walked until the sidewalk
fell away to a puddle that
was overtaken by an octopus
who laughed while smoking cigars.
"what have you, come to sail?
the enormously foul creature spoke
but was careful, to not
let tendrals fall out.
I stared, so did it, until our eyes
revealed, blue waters so calm
they grew an ocean. so we swam.
dancing together.sometimes a walk ends up,
being the best way to make friends. -
Dreams are fairy floss in a rainstorm.
The coral hue flowing away as we wake.
Eyes, peering, remembering the imagined
Worlds we visited.
People we saw.
The endless threads unwound. But while dreaming,
our souls are composers,
taking music from our hearts
turning memories into notes 🎶we sleep, letting the magic
of our mind play. -
the title found itself alone.
until, it looked inside
hello. called the sentence.
the title was startled.
it felt shook!this was the first time
it dared to look inside its book.well, a few days later.
it took a look inside
all the wonderful sentences
whispered greetingsthis time the title decided
to read it out. -
And you may look up in childlike hope
And you may be puzzled by what you see
And you may look inside for life, asking
"Well, where am I from?"And you may find yourself on a faraway world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large intergalactic spacecraft
And you may ask yourself
"Well, how did I get here?"And you may see pleasing answers
And you may find abundant life
And you may drive safely enough
But really, why are we *here*? -

(2/2)
I reach out slowly, parts of me die.
Grow, grow, grow.I grow around the marks, laying ring after ring around it. The marks are still there, but deep inside.
The scars are a deep down memory.
I thrive, thrive, thrive.
