After #JimJordan's 3rd failure to win #SpeakerOfTheHouse, #Republicans in the #USHouseOfRepresentatives remain divided in efforts to elect a new #HouseSpeaker.

It's been 2 weeks & the #RepublicanParty has been unable to name a #USHouseSpeaker. I'm hoping that this shows voters just how ineffective the #GOP is in governing, & also leading their own party. Until the divided #Republican party can decide on a new #Speaker, the #HouseofRepresentatives remains frozen.

Poor leadership by McCarthy for the post of speakership. He has drag his party through this drama. A higher person would have either passed over the leadership mantle to someone else or would have made a deal with the democrats to keep the higher goal of public service.
He keeps repeating 'How we finish matters'. Well Mr. McCarthy, I can predict how it will end. Quote from Eliot's poem,

In the modern era, the Speaker is elected at the beginning of the new Congress by a majority of the Representatives-elect from candidates separately chosen by the majority- and minority-party caucuses. In cases of an unexpected vacancy during a Congress a new Speaker is elected by a majority of the House from candidates previously chosen by the majority and minority parties.
There have been 14 instances of Speaker elections requiring multiple ballots (the records for the 2nd Congress, 1791–1793, are inconclusive, and the House has filled vacancies in the Speakership three times using a resolution). Thirteen of 14 multiple-ballot elections occurred before the Civil War, when party divisions were more nebulous. The last time a Speaker election required two or more votes on the floor happened in 1923.
