And 3+ years later, the full set of UHQR Steely Dan remasters is complete.
Amusingly, some are complaining that things are pitched up on this release. Thing is, that was how Becker/Fagen wanted it, and how it when when I bought my first copy. The CD remasters were wrong.
Anyway, maybe a touch too smooth—MAYBE—but overall I'm pleased. Not the overly harsh treble of the CDs.

Let’s get this out of the way first: this is the new, Analogue Productions UHQR version of Katy Lied, and it’s the best it’s ever sounded.
Does that mean it sounds perfect? This is not Aja. Whatever went wrong with the dbx system went wrong. But it still sounds great…and musically, this was the transition to Jazz-Pop from Pop-Jazz. Just a great set of songs, and a stellar group of musicians serving that vision.

The UHQR of Gaucho, despite not being from the original master, sounds significantly better than the same 33RPM cut (from a digital source).

After the debacle of #MUFC’s humiliation, I’m consoling myself with an Old Fashioned & #MilesDavis. I’m #NowPlaying #KindOfBlue, one of the greatest albums of all time.
This is the #UHQR from #AnalogueProductions cut at 33 by #BernieGrundman. My copy, unfortunately, has a pressing defect on the the first 30 seconds of Blue In Green. Otherwise this is immaculate, stunning, & oh so moving - bested only by the UHQR at 45 (which I also have).
