13/13 So of course the guy believes Trump is being persecuted rather than prosecuted. He is the “Great Donald Trump”. I honestly don’t care about what they believe.

11/ I agree with him that we have a two tiered justice system, but I come at that conclusion from the other way.
The reason that Trump has been allowed to do and say all the bullshit he has up to this point is *because* of the two tired justice system. The fact that Trump is being prosecuted at all stems from how egregious his conduct has been.

9/ Anyway back to the original video. I initially thought the guy was being facetious when he referred to Trump as the “Great Donald Trump”, but the more I listened to his rant, the more I got a sense of his foundational line of reasoning.
To refer to someone as “great” is to minimize or ignore things that don’t make them “great”. Otherwise they wouldn’t be “great”. If that makes sense

Fear is used to buy more guns, fear is used to sell more newspaper subscriptions. The Washington Post tagline is “Democracy dies in darkness”.

From my point of view, this isn’t an accident. Keeping people fearful allows the politicians to obtain or keep power without having to be held accountable to their constituents.
The main thrust lately about voting for Biden is to deny Trump the presidency.

4/ one thing that I’ve given a lot of thought to is how much of our politic is driven by fear. Trump campaigns on fear: “we are losing the country”, etc.
Biden and the democrats are campaigning on fear as well: “Democracy is at stake”
This has been a problem for decades in American politics because that’s a great and easy way to galvanize supporters to keep politicians in power.
Fear can cause you to ignore the rational side of the brain and suspend critical thinking

3/ I hate to say this, but If Trump gets jailed, or loses in November, those of us that aren't carrying concealed or otherwise armed, are behind curve. These people are extremely serious and Trump at this point is their symbol.
