So, travel planning apps.
I used Tripit happily for many years until they withdrew the Android app for my phone's Android version.
Switched to Wanderlog a couple of years ago, which is kind of OK. Does some things better than Tripit, but on balance, probably not quite as good.
I have a newer phone now so could go back to Tripit. Maybe I will.
But are there any other apps I should be considering?
Anything good or bad Tripit has done in the last couple of years?

Another step in moving services to the EU / self-hosting:
TripIt is great, but it has been stagnant for the last decade or so.I am giving Trek (https://github.com/mauriceboe/TREK) a go. It might be vibe coded, but it seems to do the job.
I just have to add nicer imports from emails.
I am hosting it on my Hetzner server, which is slowly collecting quite a few services. -
TripIt took a product and made it worse!
Created a trip, March 27-29. Copied a restaurant from last year into this trip - and even though I updated the date while copying it, TripIt still changed the trip date to 2025-2026. The trip is now 374 days long, and of course if I don't fix this, all the notifications in the app are wrong.
In the old web version it was possible to copy the item to "Unfiled Items", and change it there. But this option is no longer available.

The new #TripIt interface looks ... it's wasting a lot of space. Actual trip data is only about 1/3 of the screen, plenty of empty space.
At least the new interface is faster than the old one. It's not all bad.

TripIt being stuck ”Attempting” to load my cookie preferences, after I opted out.
Part of me admires the passive aggressive approach of crippling the site because I did something they dislike. I'm logged in, you morons, you could retrieve data from my account. Can't decide if it's malice or incompetence, probably a mix… -
Awesome. #TripIt no longer loads if you have an ad blocker running. I'm sure this is fine.

Most website makes an effort to keep you logged in, and make this process as seamless as possible.
#TripIt makes an effort to log me out so many times, this button "Keep me signed in" is worthless.
(and no, this browser doesn't delete cookies - the app does the same logout crap)

Can anyone recommend a good alternative to TripIt for keeping track of travel plans?
I've been very happy with TripIt and found it invaluable when travelling, but sadly they've withdrawn the version of the Android app that works with my phone.

The @kde account posted about the #KDE Itinerary app, so I thought I give it a try, and see if it can replace #TripIt.
Long story short: it can't
All the app can do is find itinerary entries in calendars and mails and a couple other sources. There is no option to manually add entries. My TripIt itinerary often includes additional entries which do not come in by email.
And the app doesn't offer a way to add/update entries on the web.
I'll check again in a few months.

Any #travellers want to give me their app recommendations for tracking all the details of their travels?
I currently use #Tripit and #AppInTheAir but hoping to consolidate
Tried #flighty but their monthly fee is just too high. -
