  1. Note: slight "#mature" theme here. I'm not applying a CW - when I was a kid, this would have caused a 12-year-old to titter, but kids these days have read and seen far more explicit stuff a thousand times.

So I wanted to post something that wasn't politics, that isn't news or topical. Something amusing, maybe, and something I've not posted before. I happened to be reminded of the novel Singularity Sky by Charles Stross yesterday, which has as #inspiration for part of it the #Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

That reminded me of a Fringe experience of mine. So here it is. It won't make you rich, or smarter, or wiser, but maybe will give you a laugh.

My partner and I went to a tiny Fringe festival in a small town some years ago. It was basically a whistle stop between two cities in western Canada; I have no idea why the touring Fringe would even stop there, but it did, at least some of it.

One of the performances we saw was a version of MacBeth. It was highly #abbreviated, sort of a cross between a Reader's Digest condensed version, and what you would get if P.D.Q. Bach had an English cousin who did Shakespeare.

  6. You don't need to leave #Twitter "X."

Simply select, "Block all Users," and it will work perfectly for you.

    #Elon #Musk #Twitter #Titter #X
    #Politics #Democracy #Oligarchy

    #ElonMusk

  9. @MrGR
#Misskey
  12. So if I'm reading this right, #SpaceKaren 's most profound change to #Twitter is changing the HQ sign to #Titter ? I hope they are all having the time of their lives over there.

    "That will be $7." 😂

  13. Enron Mark's password is probably 80085_69_420. #Titter

  16. Calling it #titter is appropriate because we're all laughing at Elon.

  17. #Twitter bzw. - Eventl. € spiegel.de/netzwelt/apps/titte

  18. #Elon's amazing comedy bit about changing #Twitter to #Titter is like this 90s Big Train sketch about a guy who wants to buy the Ritz and rename it the Titz.

Note: a big part of the joke here is that the new owner is a fucking moron.

  19. One of the few remaining good things of #Titter is that you can block distractions.

  20. @donieosullivan I just want to know if #titter is trending over there or not.

  21. @adam

Soo... being fucked is trend now for those staying on #Titter? Got it.

  22. Is there a reason I get "There is nothing in this hashtag yet" when I click on #NZTwits, #nztwit, #eqnz, #Titter - even though I can see toots with those hashtags in my Home feed?

Am I missing something screamingly obvious?

(#BlueSky, #ActivityPub, and #fediverse that also appear in some of the same toots _do_ work however)...

  23. The scariest thing that could happen to the fediverse as a result of the Musk buyout is that he takes Project Blue Sky seriously, instructs Titter engineers to implement ActivityPub, and Titter ends up becoming the biggest instance on the fediverse, by several orders of magnitude.
