Radio Free Skaro #1024 – Day of the Moon
http://traffic.libsyn.com/freyburg/rfs1024.mp3
For a fallow Time of Who there sure is a bunch a news to cover including Ncuti “Doctor Who” Gatwa talking about why he left the show (whether we believe him or not is a matter of debate), the BBC maintining its interest in Doctor Who, Mark Gatiss on the dangers of nostalgia, an Emmy nomination for (of all things) “There’s Always a Twist”, the triumphant return of the BBC Shop, Blake’s 7, Big Finish, Paul Cornell’s new comic business venture, and more! Why, it’s as if we aren’t about to enter a Second Wilderness Years!

@TheDarcBird I feel the plot for #TheDevilsChord was super thin, but I teally enjoyed #JinkxMonsoon as the baddy. Neatly unhinged. #73Yards and #DotAndBubble were great, but felt a big drop in #Rogue. The Rogue character felt really flat and random, plot again didn’t really make sense, and generally I’m not big on the Doctor getting romantically entangled. At least without good buildup! Takes away from the ‘otherness’. I know many seemed to like it though.

@fusionpatrol The next day I watched another brand new #DoctorWho #TheDevilsChord which @Eugene and I discuss here: https://fusionpatrol.com/2024/05/13/684-doctor-who-the-devils-chord/
But I did not cuddle another hen. ☹️

CW: CW - Doctor Who spoilers
I'm feeling that I wish the whole episode was a musical (like they did with #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds). I found it rather silly and disjointed -- and inconsistent. It had a lot of potential, but I felt like it needed more direction. I did like #TheMaestro as a character though. I hope they come back...

CW: #DrWho #TheDevilsChord
The 4th wall breaks in this just *Chefs kiss*
ESPECIALLY the Digetic line! Doubled with the musical numbers, Twist AND in the Christmas special and Maestro saying she's a secret song in her heart makes me think that Ruby's story is linked to songs!Maestro! What a villain! ADORE
The use of the Theme (see above again)!
Susan showing up again with a line! Is she indeed the Wicked Lady!
Fantastic episode!

CW: DOCTOR WHO SPOILERS
That bit at the end where the Doctor says "There's always a twist at the end" and then it turned into a big showtune piece reminded me of a Family Guy cutaway
