I found a new phone and a new company to go with it, though the phone is unlocked. It's a TCL Flip 2. It's cheap, it talks, and it has real buttons, completely eliminating my issues with touchscreens. It is also very affordable. The company I'm trying is called Tello. I am currently with Mint Mobile, and I have never had a problem with them. But I like Tello's pricing and build your own plan option. Now, I will be able to make calls and hang up easily. Plus, it has things that I use the most, including clock, timer, alarm, weather, and even a recorder and media player! The only thing I would really miss is Seeing AI, but I can always use my iPhone or Galaxy A15 for that. Here is more information on the phone.

Tired pup, but no rest for the wicked. AT&T gateway showed up, so new internet is up and running, and with that comes the porting of the last number.
Vik had his number for a decade or so, and after he passed, I continued to pay for it and let it idle for six months until I decided what to do, and that was port it to Tello. I gotta say, if'n you're trying to save on your phone, give Tello a look, I do gig last mile package deliver (think UPS's job DoorDash style), hence the testing with a spare phone number. Five months later, and zero problems. And ports are fast, like under 5 minutes fast. So, moved the last phone number from Verizon, last step is to cancel internet, but that can't be done yet as they're still processing the port on their end. Yeah, the VMO is faster than Verizon at this stuff, which is ridiculous.
So, now I get to update my phone number with all my gig apps tonight, and that'll be done.
The other thing is a new pair of boots, TimberlandPro this time. Yes, this time, third pair in a year and a half I think? I go through shoes fast, so this is nothing special, and for the price Timberland has held up well. I was thinking about Brunt work wear, but the reviews online are not particularly good, especially as they cost around $50 more than the Timberland, basically good, but not that good. I was wearing a pair of Vik's boots, but they suddenly disintegrated. No, really, the pleather cracking was annoying, but not a big deal, but then the cloth and the pleather separated on the back of the right boot, so time for new boots. This'll be the third type of Timberlands, and we'll see what I think about these, first were great, basically chosen by throwing a dart at the board. Second were picked by price, cheaper than the first pair, but still Timberlands, and they worked well. This time around, I had around 3 or 4 choices within the same $5 range on price, so I decided to try a different style, plus these are TimberlandPro, so I'm curious to see if'n they hold up better.
Beyond that, not much, work actually is sucking this week, and of course things are way too busy between work and home repairs/improvements. And then there'll be estate matters, tax matters and investment matters. That said, the lion's share (why do we say that?) should be done by end of June, heck I might even be able to take a break on my birthday. I guess after that the hunt for where I settle for the rest of my life begins in earnest, we've done some casual looking, but nothing serious as there's too many variables, but those will be wrapping up, and there'll be little left other than cleaning this place out.

First step into the future

And honestly something I should've done a while ago.

Just got my Tello sim, sure, my phone can use an e-sim, but just do a search for problems with those. Yeah, I think I'll stick to my physical sims thank you very much. Any how, what comes now is that once my old phone is charged, I'm going to move my Verizon sim back to that one, and put the Tello in my current phone and port Vik's / @lirleni number to it. I'll prolly have to update my phone number with all my gig apps, maybe tweak a few other things here and there, but we should be up and running by the end of the weekend (Monday), just in time for work.

Honestly I should've done this a while ago, I've had his number sitting at Verizon paying... I'm not sure how much a month, in case I want to recover his phone. Frankly I don't think I'm going to be able to recover it, I can get his iCloud through the courts, and we're going with that as we have some other matters that will require the courts for any how, so might as well save the money. Plus according to Verizon I only use around 12G of data for work, so we'll see how well a prepaid works, unlimited data only because its like $2-3 more than a 15G plan. If it doesn't work, I can just swap the SIMs around, and try again maybe with someone else down the road.

I don't think switching from Verizon will really save me that much, the package deal I have going is saving me on Internet and streaming, and I'll prolly lose both of those if'n I leave, so that'll likely eat up any savings I have, but still, I hate spending money unnecessarily. Oh, and there is a prepaid version of the 5G home internet, so that might be a cheap alternative, that just leaves the streaming service, and... Ehhh, not sure I need it. Besides, 🏴‍☠️ is always an option.

So, in a couple hours, assuming I'm not napping (tired from clearing the driveway), we'll start the process and see how many things break.
