Escuchan los riffs, no las letras
Siempre me ha causado gracia la gente que escucha Megadeth y sale con el discurso de “firmes por la patria”.
Ponen Symphony of Destruction a todo volumen.
Mueven la cabeza.
Hacen cuernos con la mano.
Se sienten rebeldes.
Y luego repiten exactamente los mismos discursos que la canción cuestiona.
No digo que haya que estar de acuerdo con Dave Mustaine. Ni siquiera él ha sido siempre coherente con sus propias letras.
Pero es curioso ver cómo muchos escuchan la música y nunca las palabras.
Escuchan guitarras.
No escuchan advertencias.
Escuchan velocidad.
No escuchan crítica.
Escuchan rebeldía.
No escuchan preguntas.
A veces pienso que si entendieran realmente algunas de las letras que cantan con tanta pasión, terminarían más incómodos que orgullosos.
Pero supongo que es más fácil agitar una bandera que leer una letra.
“I don’t care, you can kiss my ass.”
Y con eso queda resumida gran parte de mi relación con los fanáticos de cualquier dogma, venga de donde venga.
