They were so worried about Harris taking away their rights, when she had a zero chance of doing so, they forgot that anyone taking away their rights is a bad thing. Talk about a few bricks short. Her term would have given each side the time to get their shit together for a real go of it in '28. Instead, we get a house full of lunatics, a flash mob of self-absorbed bullshit artists, and a cult of Tech Lords skimming the entire game, all while a world wide wrestling heel takes the country on a four year bender. It's gonna take a helluva lot more than a handful of dogooders to keep this ship off the rocks. 'My way or the highway' doesn't sound good no matter who's saying it. Put tech back in its box, or socialize it in the opposite direction, and get rid of any constitutional wiggle room that gives corruption air to breathe. Nothing else matters.

Opportunism trumps the will of the people. The only good thing out of all this is that everyone, everywhere, is no longer beholden to the mythology of American might. People can either join the cabal of control or get back to fighting the existential fight for liberty and justice for all.

@iinac @ChrisMayLA6 I'm pretty sure Europe would like to build their own "smart bubble" to encapsulate their people with, rather than being a part of the US or China version of the Truman Show. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, most countries just want an easy path to more riches. Those closest to the deal makers benefit the most, while everyone else forgets about history playing with their new gadgets.

And now, they've collectively accumulated enough of the Earth's resources, that they own its technological future. They'll get a piece of it from here on out. No wonder they're building end of days happy tanks for themselves. Once enough people figure it out, they're going to be ticked. How many billions of years do we have before the sun sets for good? Where are people so in a hurry to go that they want to be the only ones going there?

Thanks to global warming, and the last technological revolution, the Arctic has cracked wide open. As a result, the EU is faced with being part of the East, or part of the New North West. However, if Canada joined the EU, and the UK made a formal apology and begged to come back, the Americans would have to decide whether it's better to join the EU or expect all those countries to become States. Since the States don't see eye to eye as it is, I wouldn't count on the latter being a viable option.
