My current project is to take all my translations of Fiore dei Liberi’s historical martial arts manuscripts and wrap them in an in interactive application that you can take with you on your phone/tablet into your salle when waving swords about. Still a work in progress, but getting there. It’s also been interesting learning a new programming language (dart) and UI framework (flutter).

For fans of historical martial arts and sword play, I've just finished the last of my translations of Fiore dei Liberi's three manuscripts written in mediaeval Italian. Sadly, unlike the translations of the Getty and Pisani-Dossi manuscripts, I was unable to secure the rights to reproduce the scans in my translation of the Morgan manuscript.
No large language models used, any mistakes are all my own.

Small note about stage combat with swords: it must _appear_ you are attacking the person, and they are attacking you, not that you are hitting or aiming for their sword.
Just saw the umpteenth fight where they were clearly waiting for parries before starting attacks, and that’s not the story.

So I suppose an #introduction is the way to start, I'm Marla, I'm an omnivorous geek with a love for #science, #technology, and #engineering. I like #writing and I especially like explaining cool science stuff to people.
In my free time, I make #lists, do #swordplay, #knitting, #videogames, #tabletop gaming, #MagicTheGathering, and recently started getting into painting miniatures, so I might try to get a #hobbystreak going on here.
