Ik was dus eigenlijk gewoon geschokt hoe de Hema (Almere Stad) beneden veranderd was in een halve Jamin.
Nou was Jamin ook eem winkel met eem echte Hollandse traditie, maar ik had een beetje verwacht dat we dat een beetje achter ons zouden laten. -

My teenage son has been taking classes to learn how to fight... medieval style. He's been attending classes at a local #HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) Academy. Its pretty cool and so much more involved than the LARPing I was doing as a kid.
And maybe its just our local club, but most the kids are visually queer. Lots of rainbows, pronouns, even a furry. While its great to see these kids find a safe place, its also good to know that the next generation can defend us from the barbarian horde (aka MAGA).
Anyone else here into historically accurate fighting?

Een rolletje zoomband wilde ik hebben. Vanwege een rij bij de kassa ging ik naar de selfscan kassa. Hekel aan. Ook hekel aan lang in de rij staan. Dit om het dillema wat te verduidelijken. Na het scannen van de zoomband en klantenpas stond er in het scherm de mededeling 'een moment aub een medewerker komt u aanschaf controleren'. Pardon? Welke medewerker? Dat personeel kwam niet want is er niet.
Ik ben weggelopen.Het is geen vooruitgang als het achteruitgang is.

My current project is to take all my translations of Fiore dei Liberi’s historical martial arts manuscripts and wrap them in an in interactive application that you can take with you on your phone/tablet into your salle when waving swords about. Still a work in progress, but getting there. It’s also been interesting learning a new programming language (dart) and UI framework (flutter).
