"Dank" einem Problem von #O2 hat mein #Pihole nun ein paar Neuerungen erhalten.
Nachdem der #IPv6-DNS-Server die IP für den VoIP-Server nicht mehr gefunden hat, habe ich die IP fest in Pihole integriert. Das hat den Weg geebnet, nicht den O2-DNS-Server sondern den von @digitalcourage mit #DoT und #DNSSEC (mit Hilfe von #stubby) zu nutzen 👍

#TIL In Australian English a #Stubby (or Stubbie) is a “small, wide bottle of beer”.

So “let's crack a stubby” means “let's open a bottle of beer" and not “let's gain illegal access to that Stubby stub resolver”

@jforseth210 IMHO this depends on the upstream DNS.

Using upstreams in DK, LU and CH.

My quick tests for fosstodon.org in a Docker container running stubby-only (without dnsmasq) resulted in answering times always < 300ms.

Does anyone know how to improve performance when using #dns over #tls and #dnssec? I'm using #stubby with #dnsmasq, and dns resolution is taking over 1s in many cases when loading a new page.

Fresh #i2p / #tor container, now also with DNS-over-TLS (#DoT). 😀

This is nice, because the bootstrapping process ("reseed") gets better protected. It's using a small set of non-logging DNS servers (via DoT). #privacy #security
