    The Yellow Barrier — A Homeland We Can See, But Cannot Reach 🇵🇸💔

    We have a homeland we belong to, yet sometimes it feels farther away than anywhere on Earth.

    It is not an imagined homeland, nor merely a story inherited from our grandparents. It is the soil where our dead are buried, the land that carried our parents’ footsteps, the homes where our voices and memories once lived.

    Its name was Palestine.
    Its name is Palestine.
    And its name will remain Palestine. 🇵🇸

    But today, a yellow barrier stands between us and it.

    Small in size, immense in what it represents. It draws an invisible line and tells us: You may look, but you may not go beyond this point.

    Yet even looking no longer brings comfort.

    We see no tree to hold onto. No trace of a home we recognize. No window left to testify that we were ever there.

    The machinery of destruction did not stop at demolishing homes. It tried to erase something deeper: identity, history, culture, memory—even the dreams we once carried for our children. 🏚️💔

    Sometimes I stand there and look at the space this yellow barrier allows me to see.

    There is only emptiness where life should have been.

    It feels as though I am looking not at a distant land, but at a piece of myself erased before my eyes.

    This is where our hearts were buried.
    This is where our souls took root.
    This is where our sweat fell into the soil. 🌿

    The hardest part is not being told, “This place is not yours.”

    The hardest part is knowing that it is yours—knowing its names, remembering the homes that once stood there, carrying memories of places that no longer exist, and then standing helplessly before land from which not only have we been separated, but whose visible traces have been deliberately destroyed.

    In Gaza, homeland is no longer simply a map.

    It has become an absence we look at through a yellow barrier.

    And that barrier has become a silent witness to an attempt to separate people from their land, their history, their memory—and even their right to dream of a future. 🕊️

    But a barrier cannot change the name of a homeland.

    They may destroy homes, erase landmarks, and bury the traces of a civilization. But they cannot erase Palestine from our memory.

    They may prevent our feet from reaching it.
    They may erase the landscape from before our eyes.
    But they cannot uproot that land from within us.

    So when I look beyond the yellow barrier, I do not see what remains of a home.

    I see what they tried to erase.

    And I see a homeland whose name survived the ruins.

    It was Palestine.
    It is Palestine.
    And it will remain Palestine. 🇵🇸🕊️

    Thyme, Heavier Than Hunger 🌿💔

    In Palestine, thyme needs no introduction. It is the scent of old homes, the memory of quiet mornings, and a small piece of our land that we carry with us wherever we go. 🇵🇸

    We used to eat thyme because we loved it.
    Today, we eat it because we have little else.

    That is the cruel irony: something that once awakened our appetite has become heavy on our stomachs. We eat it today, then again tomorrow, and the day after—not because we want to, but because the only alternative is hunger. 🥖

    We spread it on bread, mix it with whatever we have, and try to convince ourselves that the same meal is somehow different. We change its shape, but we know the truth: it is still thyme, and the hunger is still there.

    Sometimes I look at the plate and wonder how much our lives have changed.

    The question is no longer, “What do we feel like eating today?”
    It has become, “What do we still have to eat today?”

    We eat thyme so often that even our stomachs begin to resist what our hearts have learned to accept.

    And still, we do not abandon it.

    Not because it is enough, but because we no longer have the luxury of choice.

    There is an old saying: “Plant it in your belly.”
    So we plant whatever we can, and keep going.

    But sometimes I wonder: what happens when even a memory becomes too heavy for the stomach?

    The thyme that once reminded us of our land now reminds us of hunger. 🌿💔

    And yet, perhaps that is exactly why we keep eating it. When we cannot hold on to much of Palestine, we hold on to even a spoonful of thyme and tell ourselves that this land still lives inside us.

    We eat it so we will not go hungry.
    We carry it so we will not forget.

    When you listen to Israel Katz boasting about his record, you are not merely hearing passing political statements; you are stepping onto the threshold of a diseased mindset that worships cruelty. He stands to strip bare the flaws of an entire system without filters, publicly declaring that terrorism, when clothed in a "Jewish identity," is protected by sovereign decree, while for the Palestinian victim, administrative detention without charges becomes an absolute, daily rule.
    > "I haven't signed a single administrative detention order against an extremist settler..." while hundreds of orders hunt down every Palestinian who dares to breathe across the West Bank and the Galilee.
    >
    Thus, with utter shamelessness, the upside-down scale of justice is operated. Pardons are granted to rampaging settlers to wreak havoc on the land, while a Palestinian is punished simply for existing. This is not merely individual racism; it is the expression of a deeply rooted societal sickness—an electoral audience that thirsts only for extremism, granting its votes solely to those who master the crushing of human dignity.
    When Stones Weep and Ruins Speak
    Yet, the chapters of the tragedy do not stop at the boundaries of the violated Palestinian body; they reach out to assassinate history itself. In another statement falling squarely under the registry of absolute savagery, the same minister boasts of the complete obliteration of 24 Lebanese villages.
    * 🏚️ No distinction between stone and stone, nor between child and tree: These villages were wiped out of existence as if they had never been.
    * 📜 Centuries and millennia of crushed memory: Villages carrying the scent of ancestors and the antiquity of the land for hundreds and thousands of years were crushed in a demonic caprice, instantly reduced to ash and shattered archways.
    We stand before cries of agony that refuse to fade: the pain of villages erased from the map, and the pain of human beings hunted in their identity and existence.     There are places in the world where beginnings and endings remain distinct—where birth is separated from funerals, joy from grief, life from death.

    But Gaza has long since transcended these boundaries.

    In Gaza, the living emerge from death, and the dead vanish from among the living. 🌫️

    How many people have been pulled alive from the ruins of homes where every other member of their family perished? They walk away breathing, yet carrying an entire cemetery within their hearts. And how many people smiled, spoke, and made plans with us in the morning, only to become names on a list of the dead before sunset? Here, seeing someone alive today is never a promise that they will still be here tomorrow.

    While the world speaks of a “ceasefire,” reports continue to emerge of further horrific and devastating acts against civilians in Gaza. Military operations continue to expand, and control over new areas is shifting, with the so-called “Yellow Line” reportedly absorbing more than 71% of the territory — making many question whether this is truly a ceasefire or merely an illusion. 💔

    As more than two million people endure siege, hunger, and displacement, and as families mourn their loved ones only to see more lives taken hour after hour, Benjamin Netanyahu is welcomed like a respected world leader, despite the arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court. ⚖️

    What message does this scene send to us and to the world? 🌍 What remains of international justice if a person wanted by the International Criminal Court receives official honors and welcomes, while our suffering continues and acts described by many as a profound stain on humanity persist on the ground?

    If ceasefire commitments are applied selectively, how can we believe that justice is not being used as a cover while grave violations continue?
