Peruin jälleen yhden amerikkalaisen #verkkopalvelu'n tilauksen. #SpiderOakOne eli nykyiseltä nimeltään #CrossClave #ONEBackup tjsp. oli alkuaan hyvä, edullinen ja toimiva #pilvivarmuuskopio, mutta parin viime vuoden aikana toimintavarmuus heikkeni, valmistaja itse järjestäytyi käsittämättömästi uudelleen (minkä vuoksi en tuotteen nimestäkään ollut enää perille) ja lopulta sen kohtaloksi koitui #TrumPutin ja #kauppasota. #atkjuttuja

Ich bin geneigt, von #SpiderOakOne (was ich weniger als Backup, vielmehr als zuverlässigen File-sync nutze) zu verlassen und zu #Tresortit zu wechseln. Hat jemand Erfahrungen?
(BTW: Ein halbes Jahr Tests mit einer eigenen Lösung aus #Nextcloud und #Cryptomator sind so mittel.) -

Got #rclone encrypted #OpenDrive mount working - turns out, it needed to be mounted locally outside of the main unencrypted OpenDrive mount.
Focused on that so that I could cancel #SpiderOakOne - it seems to basically be abandonware and is much more annoying to use than rclone with OpenDrive.
A bit sad because I'd been using SpiderOak for years - ever since Wuala went out of business. Luckily, never needed to restore from SpiderOak (or Wuala).

Got #rclone encrypted #OpenDrive mount working - turns out, it needed to be mounted locally outside of the main unencrypted OpenDrive mount.
Focused on that so that I could cancel #SpiderOakOne - it seems to basically be abandonware and is much more annoying to use than rclone with OpenDrive.
A bit sad because I'd been using SpiderOak for years - ever since Wuala went out of business. Luckily, never needed to restore from SpiderOak (or Wuala).

#SpiderOakOne has now been down for over two weeks. The only note they’ve sent to their users (23 Apr) is about a “planned maintenance this week”. No answers to #helpdesk requests. Their site only shows a red banner that they are very sorry for the inconvenience and are “working on it”. Doesn’t look good. #IT #CloudBackup
