It is now my 3rd day in a row that I am having issue backing up with Arq backup...

Puh, #OneDrive ist immer noch enttäuschend lahm bei File Uploads. Bisheriges Backup über #Arq via #Dropbox hatte meinen Upload von 5 MB/s ausgenutzt. Bei #OneDrive quält es sich um die 1 MB/s.

I'm not 6 months without Time Machine backups.

I was so happy to start using a Mac back when Time Machine was new, it was amazing. Nowadays, I can restore diddly squat with it, even with an NVME SSD.

#Arq Backup is much more bare bones, but at least I can find file versions.

Привет! Меня зовут Иван, я бэкенд-разработчик в KTS. Сегодня расскажу, как в FastAPI эффективно работать с фоновыми задачами и настроить их мониторинг в Prometheus. В туториалах для фоновых задач в FastAPI обычно предлагают celery и при этом используют синхронный код. Но сегодня в реальной практике такое встречается редко, поэтому в этой статье я покажу, как в фоновых задачах использовать асинхронный код. В статье опишу 5 вариантов: встроенный в FastAPI Background Tasks и 4 библиотеки — ARQ, SAQ, FastStream, адаптированный к асинхронному коду Celery. В конце расскажу, как мониторить фоновые задачи. This was a bit of a scare initially, but then I realized I needed to fix the permissions for my .photoslibrary package after moving it to a different user account. (A little heads-up from Apple instead of the cryptic error 4302 would've been nice, though.) Now it's restoring. 🤞 #iCloud #Arq #macOS

Restore worked without errors! 1 TB took roughly 15h on my 250 mbit/s connection. Not too bad. Next step is to open the photos library and see if the overall amount of pictures/videos matches. #iCloud #Arq #macOS

A backup is only a backup if it can be restored. So let’s try restoring the #iCloud Photo Library that’s backed up to my Hetzner Storage Box via #Arq on a daily basis. Can it be downloaded without errors, and will it open on a fresh #macOS account that’s not logged in to iCloud? Also, how long will it take to restore ~1 TB? Stay tuned.

I am this || close to disabling #TimeMachine on my #Mac and just adding a second #Arq target for whatever this year's S3-a-like service is called on my #Synology.

May as well just do the latter anyways (assuming I have the space 🤔) and then I can at least find out if TM's incredible slowness is its fault or, somehow, the Synology’s.

@trmsc Bei mir macht #ARQ von meinem MacBook jeden Tag zu zwei verschiedenen Zeitpunkten ein Backup (morgens verschlüsselt zu OneDrive, abends verschlüsselt zur ARQ Cloud), außerdem täglich ein TimeMachine auf die NAS daheim.

It happened.
I need to move my complete iCloud Photos Library from my MacBook Air to an external drive because internal storage is filling up (446 GB). 😢

Think this works. Just need to set the new library as system library and reenable iCloud Photos again.

#arq backup should also take up the drive for backup.
