The Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill was scheduled here today at 10:15 AM. San Bernardino County sent both of its text messages late, and then three voice mails even later, including one just a few minutes ago in Spanish.
It's well over three years since SBCo government should have learned multiple lessons after Snowmageddon, and here it proves yet again that it still can't properly organize and operate a one-man run to a two-hole shit-house.

In EDT it's almost time for #Shakeout2023. At 10:19 you should crawl under your desk for a minute.
It's a practice for #earthquake preparedness. If there are problems doing it now, you can address them and be ready to #dropCoverHoldOn in case a real quake happens.
My other favourite reminder on the topic of #earthquake preparedness is not only should you follow the Drop-Cover-and-Hold-On routine that is the current wisdom, but you should NOT run screaming, nor even walk briskly out of your glass-tower office building during an earthquake.
During the last quake here in Ottawa, news footage showed people streaming out of their downtown offices.
That's only a good idea if your goal is to catch falling shards of glass. Not recommended.
The #Shakeout promotion on Masto isn't what it was on the birdsite yet, but hopefully that will grow.
I used to prod city hall's health people that they should be more participatory in this drill. They eventually did start tweeting about it finally, but of course that was all for naught.
Silly that Ottawa doesn't have a substantial presence among the Shakeout.Org region listings. We're going to have a big quake again some day, and will be under-prepared for it.
