  1. Van Ness station is so full, and each passing train barely has room for a few people. Muni, we need more trains!

  2. Early this morning, the last pull in at Potrero Division before this Muni yard closes for years for a major reconstruction and expansion project.

This facility has been in operation for 111 years. The end of an era!

  7. #SanFrancisco transit folks, does anyone have a copy of the two pages of descriptive text that originally came with this poster? friend lost their copy and I can’t find the text online anywhere. it had a list of all the characters in the boat. #sfmuni

  8. Wow. Measured by boardings, route 49 is the far-away winner for 2024, at the top of the list for most months.

I guess BRT (opened in 2022) is really paying off!

N Judah was top of the heap in 2019 before COVID threw a wrench into everything and still maintains a respectable 2nd place.

Given higher costs for tunnels and rail maintenance that's gotta be frustrating to see BRT take over the top spot from light rail.

  9. For all you #SFBA folks, has anyone had trouble transferring their virtual clipper cards to a new phone?

Luckily I still have one physical one for guests because both of my virtual ones are not working on new phone #clippercard #ACtransit #SFmuni

  10. I was let off at the new #sfmta #sfmuni light rail platform near Balboa Park station today which is not news. That has happened on and off for months. But now there are some signs about a grand opening. Apparently what makes this platform open for business is that it has a light now.

  12. Every #SFUSD kid worth their salt has daily experience riding #SFMuni, walking, or riding to get to school—and that gives them freedom to independently navigate all of #SanFrancisco and wherever they end up living as adults.

  13. I keep thinking that #sfmuni should look at how to reduce travel times on key routes. I first saw how the Chicago L had a skip-stop strategy ( an A and a B train that shared a stop every few stations) and how it reduced travel times. Now I read about #Superloop buses to reduce travel times, to great acclaim, it appears.

Can SF learn from these examples? It's essential to greater mode shift.

  14. One #PotreroHill #SFMuni rider was surprised to discover her #pickuptruck stolen while she rode the bus to work, and even more baffled by a #city policy requiring all stolen #CarOwners to take time off work and be physically present at #TowYard while #SFPD #police officers #verify and process #Impound records for recovered #StolenVehicles. She had to spend two full days at the ever hospitable #CityTow yard before getting her own wheels back.

  16. For the swipe of a Clipper Card, the N Judah train gives a sketcher as many models as they can handle.

  17. Needed some gardening supplies - so we jumped on the 1, changed to the 18 to Wawona, browsed and bought at Sloat Garden Center, then realized it was after noon on a Friday, so could walk on the #GreatHighwayPark to Fulton, then took the 5 to FIllmore and walked back to California. Who needs a car?

and on the bus @grimalkinUSA was asked about her TravelScoot by a couple of people who realized that's a mobility device that would improve their lives, with information exchanged.
