@tazyas @Phil_Tanner we are still donating a small weekly amount we can afford at the request of my giftee from the last #SecretSantaAoNZ to Pet Refuge, who provide temporary care to animals that have had to leave homes on account of domestic violence, so that the humans in need of refuge don’t have to stay to keep their pets safe.

So for those of us over here in the free world, just a heads up that there won't be a #SecretSantaAoNZ this midwinter.

It's a sad situation, but there is unfortunately just not the capacity in the team to run it this time around.

There is a suggestion that people could donate to causes they consider to be worthy instead.

There's a couple of posts over on BlueSky about #SecretSantaNZ, but unfortunately they're locked.

So for those of us over here in the free world, just a heads up that there won't be a #SecretSantaAoNZ this midwinter.

I've seen a few people asking, there won't be a mid winter #SecretSantaAoNZ this year.

Foxy has been sick and the rest of us don't have the spoons right now.

So be kind, spread the aroha in all the ways you can and continue to bring joy through the dark months.

I do casual tech help and help with purchasing the right tech to suit your needs for a koha. Happy to sit down with people and discuss what you need then help you do the upgrade/data transfer etc.

PS: @thesewphist.bsky.social I got one of your wallets and a journal for #SecretSantaAoNZ. Love both, not really a journalling person though so if I don’t find a use for the journal I might regift it and share the love!

For tonight's Family Games Night, we played Bean Boozled, and came to the decision that it was rigged, after all of us got a run of three foul ones in a row. So we switched to Rat-a-tat-CAT.

I did it! I made it to the end of the opening day posts! #SecretSantaAoNZ I am normally online all opening day pretty much but couldn’t be this time & have had a busy few days since. Wow, Santas!!! You did amazingly. I love that so many support local makers & authors, have 2nd hand and made gifts.

I'm a curmudgeon by nature, every time we kick off #SecretSantaAoNZ I'm worried it won't work. Because there's no way it could possibly work. But it does, because a lot of people really do care about bringing a bit of Joy to a stranger or a pocket friend. It's a happy thing.

How good did my terrible day get? 💯 Santa has blown my mind! A Christine Harris sugar bowl in a pattern I didn’t even know existed an a gorgeous espresso cup and saucer in my favourite tamarillo yonic pattern!!! And White Chocalate Whittaker’s give me my sun etc #SecretSantaAoNZ
