Stary bangier densowy na sobotę 😊 nietypowo melodyjnie jak na mnie, ale mam wielki sentyment do tego kawałka. Ostatnio zrobiło się o nim głośno jakieś dwa lata temu, albowiem jego twórca Tomcraft zmarł (nie wiem, co mu się stało, chłop 3 lata ode mnie młodszy).
Co jednak ciekawe, mi się przypomniał jeszcze wcześniej, w jakimś współczesnym secie, takim bardziej hard, i myślę: ooo, to coś z najntisów, kojarzę... Twórcy na początek ni wuja - bo wiecie, jak to drzewiej bywało, człowiek poznawał muzę na imprezach, jak ktoś zagrał, znaczy przytargał płytę fizycznie z Niemiec.
Wracając, kawałek (żadne najntisy, okazało się, 2002-2003) stał się swego czasu mega radiowym hiciorem i dorobił wielu miksów. W załączniku świeży z 2023 by Hardwell, mniej klubowo zgrzebny, a bardziej EDMowy (te werble hehe :D). A potem gruchnęła wieść o śmierci Tomcrafta i oczywiście moja myśl: kurde ledwie żem se przypomniałe coś fajnego, to producent znikł, co za jakaś fatalna koincydencja.
Ten miks ma tę zaletę, że wchodzi prawie od razu z melodyjką, która daje mi absolutnie niezawodnego powera zawsze i wszędzie, podczas gdy w wersji pierwotnej wchodziła jakoś w połowie utworu.
Więc mam teraz instant power na zapętleniu. Thank you Tomcraft, na zawsze w mojej wdzięcznej pamięci.

Our next spotlight is on number 1117 on The List, submitted by @Yuki.
I chose this spotlight next simply because I thought it would be funny to juxtapose an album that is primarily all about guitars (see our previous spotlight on Vini Reilly) with an album that is completely lacking in that gorgeous stringed instrument. Now, I can see, see it in your eyes, that you think you’re better off alone, that you got to get away, got to move away from this album. But, there’ll be no more lies if we don’t deny what this album means now. That you want this back in your life, want it back by your side, ’cause that’s where it belongs. And it, it won’t give you up, it will never stop, its bop is much too strong.
So, do you think you’re better off alone? I mean, a particularly unique album among all the late 90s/early 00s Euro/dance/trance pop this may not be, and, sure, it was the group’s only studio album. But, is it a great example of that era and style that will still get your body moving, over a quarter of a century later? Yes. And does it have a banger of a single that still holds up? Heck yes! I mean, this album wasn’t given the Music On Vinyl treatment for its 25th anniversary for nothing. Also, saxophone-playing sasquatches know what’s up.[1]
The question is: which album cover is better? And, how did the Internet get a hold of this mash-up with Eurythmics’ “Here Comes The Rain Again” that (I thought) was only in my brain?! Also, is anyone going to any of the upcoming Alice DJ shows this fall?!!

I need some #FediHelp but this seems quite obscure at least to my fuddled brain.
When I was a young man either in the very late 80's or early 90's there was a youth TV show that did a short section on New Beat/Belgian House.
I am convinced it featured an interview with a man purporting to be a producer. He spoke in French Belgian with an interesting accent (perhaps his voice was slightly treated). He was absurd, articulate and slightly pompous.
He was clad as a Mummy, with dark glasses and a pipe. As I recall the Mummy bandages were dark rather than white. I think there were one or two women behind him giggling at intervals.

So maybe I am conflating the two. But I am certain the man was sat in his studio talking about Belgium, dance music and other enlightening topics.

Sin prisa, repitiendo canciones, o partes de ellas, mirando acreditaciones, escuchando con detalle, dejándome ir. Siendo niñe repelente.
Perimenopop.
Tras años, Crying at the Discoteque aparte, de canción ligera, con dispares resultados (a los singles de Wanderlust me remito, cuatro soles), la perimenopausia la ha espoleado para volver al electropop. ¿Por qué no iba a chafardear en la disco una mujer de 46? Roisin, Shirley Manson, Robyn, Alison Goldfrapp, lo hacen.
Así, este álbum guarda algunas canciones lentas que, no obstante, fintan los baladismos. Es bailable de la cabeza a los pies, pasando por el coño.
Probablemente, el mejor tema sea justo uno suavón; Stay On Me, una pista deliciosamente inmersiva como pocas se hacen. Y es que es un largo donde la personalidad de la intérprete está impregnada pese a las distintas colaboraciones: me flipa que, tras Lose You To Love Me (baladón), el tándem Michaels-Gómez firme Stay On Me, una pata de Perimenopop. ¿La otra? Relentless Love, el single disfrutón y adulto que cumple con todos los reclamos del disco. Si quieren aceptamos aquí la estupenda Vertigo, pero yo digo Relentless.
Los sintes de Heart Sing se agradecen al romper la dinámica disco imperante, pero está muy abajo. Layers, de rica producción, luce más. Así, son temas como Diamond los que quedan en la cabeza al adaptar las leyes de la discomusic a la cantante y a la vez a los tiempos que corren con enorme actitud.

Doja Cat se ha arremangado para follarse los sonidos ochentosos menos explorados y dar un paso frontal, taconazo que deja huella, que quema el asfalto, en el suelo. Qué tía.
En vista de la canción que hoy nos ocupa, no solo es lista como sabíamos sino que muy versátil, descarada y con un buen gusto incuestionable. Es el tema que Antonoff debería ponerle sobre la mesa a la Carpenter próximamente para sacarla de la espiral.
Como inspirada en The Human League o George Michael, pero sobre todo en Janet (siempre infravalorada), y antes, en ella misma dando un paso adelante en su obra creativa, Doja Cat brilla en este temón imprescindible de 2025.
Jealous mira a unos ochentas curiosamente desdeñados o poco transitados en esta era de constantes revivals y los adapta a las hechuras de Cat, que para nada suena disfrazada ni incómoda. ¿St. Vincent lo haría parecido?

Esto suena a una versión alternativa de Fama, ahora abiertamente de girls & queers, la única que merecería la pena volver a hacer del serial y que no se hará. Podría sonar ahí este flamante disco hibridado con pop, en una Fama de autor.
No solo es optimista y bailable sino que tiene una campanita irresistible durante todo el track, una base que parece un aplauso y unos vocals sensuales que no renuncian a ofrecernos un rapeado y una nota en belting muy de la época que saquea con tanto tino.
