Started thinking about the album Michael Jackson's Off The Wall. I loved that album, but all of the CD releases I always felt sounded kind of meh. Then I started looking and guess what! #MobileFidelitySoundLab just released a new remaster of it last month as a Hybrid CD/SACD. I found a FLAC rip of the CD layer on the high seas and I am floored. The Blue Man Group's AUDIO album is one of my favorite multi-channel high res 192/24 audio albums that I have. The mix itself, the incredible highs, the insanely rich base. Completely independent tracks written for each speaker. I just had a pleasant lunch break listening to the new #DolbyAtmos #BluRay of the classic #DavidBowie album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars!

I've got plenty of #DVD-A and #SACD albums, but this is my first Blu Ray Audio; it was incredible!

Even though I don't have an Atmos setup this still sounded amazingly clear downmixed to 5.1; one of the best surround albums I've ever heard.

Bowie's vocals are so clear that at times it's like you're in the studio with him.

Enjoying a relaxing afternoon listening to "Wish You Were Here" by #PinkFloyd on #SACD.

It's been ages since I sat and listened to a multi channel album but I've been reorganising my office and moved my small collection of Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio discs and thought "why not?"

Pink Floyd always sounds so perfect in 5.1 Surround Sound.

Sitting here listening to IQ's album Resistance (ripped from CD to AAC) over Jabra bluetooth headphones from my iPad and wondering whether SACD audio quality would have a meaningful impact on my enjoyment of the music.

Not wondering very hard since I suspect the answer is "no”.

(Not a dig on OP, just saying that feeling is that this listening experience is "good enough" for me and things like wired headphones and higher source audio quality are marginal gains at best. For me.)

I’ve got to spend some time with the new #MFSL #JoniMitchell #Blue and I have to say it sounds incredible.
Guitar is smoother and less harsh. Drums sound amazing with great bass texture. It’s the best digital version I’ve ever heard. It also sounds particularly good in my car system. Drums are definitely more car friendly. There’s more body to the bass drum in a way that isn’t boosted or artificial.
The album is so good I’m inclined to buy every other Joni Mitchell #SACD MFSL is putting out.

This came tonight. I still have the OG CD, but since this is a new transfer from the master tapes, I had to check it out. This was the first album I got obsessed with back in 1983. It’s arguably the best thing #MichaelJackson ever did.

Right off the bat listening to this A B testing between the original CD and this the MoFi version has a very noticeably wider soundstage. The bass isn’t as in your face, so probably not the best version for a dance party…. #audiophile #SACD #Thriller

Here's one for the #audiophile nerds.
I've extracted a track from an #SACD. Once as Philips DSDIFF and once as Sony DSF.
Naturally they're lossless copies of the same file.
BUT when I convert both of them to #FLAC there's a 100 *byte* difference between them.

I *think* it is just the metadata - but how can I check?
