Here's an interesting opportunity for Andy #Burnham. #RushanaraAli's proposed changes to the Elections Bill are modest, but they are easy wins. Burnham could use them as an easy way to signal good faith to democracy campaigners.
If he had more courage, he could follow the Irish model: ban all foreign donations, cap donations at ~€5,000 per year.
With real courage, he could follow Monbiot's model: ban all donations, give state matching funds to membership fees.
