    I work 60+ hours a week, selling #StreetRoots with NO hope of ever getting off the streets. I could be "making" more panhandling and I know it but at 59, I know I'll never get a corporate job again but even so, I know to much now to even want one.

  10. For folks outside of Portland, y’all should know that we have this great newspaper called Street Roots.

    It’s run by folks experiencing houselessness. But that’s not a gimmick. They do excellent work. Great reporting with engaging stories.

    I always buy the papers from folks who are selling them on the streets. It feels good to contribute to their cause. And it’s always a great read.
