I don't usually do this kind of thing here but this is the rescue group Kengo came from. If anyone could help even a little bit, they would appreciate it.
The dog Peanut is under the care of Hearts' n Homes , but he needs amputation surgery as he was hit by a car before he came to them and that's the only option for him to survive.

Kengo made a tremendous progress this morning. He didn't need assist with standing up, getting down one step to the garage, did his business, and see how he walks! I almost cried.

I decided to let him sleep last night in his own bed. But, every ten minutes, I heard him whine. Since he didn't void the last time he went out, I took him out (with a lot of work) and he did. Still, he would whine, so finally I carried his heavy body up on my bed. He got quiet and fell asleep.

It's week 3 of 4 of my super busy work month and today was the busiest day yet. The weekend is very welcome.
As you can imagine, the last few days have been emotionally exhausting and I've struggled to get sufficient sleep. Tango has been so lonely. Jarrah and I were best friends and I was his special person, but Tango's special person was Jarrah.
I wasn't ready to get another dog. When we brought her home, I sat in the car with Adam and wept and said, but one day, she'll die too and I'll be devastated all over again, and he pointed out that the alternative is never loving anything or anyone, and would I really want that?
And Tango needed another dog friend.
So the tl;dr of this post is thank you for all the kind words and thoughts and empathy about Jarrah and may I please introduce Ella who is very slowly healing our hearts while chewing our socks

So...the day has come. Kengo has had his left leg ACL tear repair surgery today. For those who don't know the story, he had had similar surgery on his right leg in early May. The vet says everything went well and he is ready to be picked up tomorrow. It will be another long recovery period to follow while this old dad's body will be abused while assisting him with mobility, etc.
