Graceful messengers of all life’s
Giving & taking, #replete with
Wisdom & intelligence, the
Shape of the black & white
Phoenix burnished with the fire
Of creation & destruction in
One body of unfurled wings.The story goes
They are the children of
A demon & a goddess,
Secret & forbidden,
Turned into birds by their
Remorseful parents, &
Named bad by their lies,
When the reality is
They inherited the
Best of both.Ages old,
Sad eyes,
Hearts of gold.
