The farmer was cutting hay, and we counted *seven* Red Kites following the tractors.

At one point, all whirling over the same field together!

I guess it's the raptor equivalent of a salmon run. A hay cut drives out mice and rodents. So they learnt to follow the tractors 🦅🚜

I was going to take a break from posting today but as it's #wildlifewednesday I couldn't resist.

Here's an image taken on my old camera in 2023 of a Red Kite in flight. In England there have been several conservation successes with these birds over the last 20-30 years. In certain places they almost feel as common as garden birds!

Bei den Rotmilanen werden wieder strenge Rituale praktiziert. Sie sitzen mit maximalem Abstand auf demselben Ast. Einer lockt den anderen mit Futter in seine Nähe. Das Geschenk wird mit Verbeugung präsentiert und unter Aufsicht verspeist.
