A great episode but I wish #PocketCasts provided a better link. That would require most podcasts had their own website tho. And if I may be so bold, that the podcasters had a fedi account. It could be the same thing... @Castopod ?

TIL that #PocketCasts is available for Android. I always though it was iOS only, no idea why. I'm very happy with Antennapod, but I always loved PocketCasts, so might switch back.

Der Preis an sich ist ok, aber ich habe recht viele RSS-Feeds, noch mehr podcasts und hatte manche bluesky-feeds mit drin. +youtube…das war der Info-Overkill. Podcasts höre ich auch lieber mit dem podcatcher meiner Wahl (#PocketCasts). Das Konzept funktioniert bei mir zwar nicht, aber die Apps von @rizzi sind klasse!

I am enjoying #PocketCasts https://pocketcasts.com/ as a multiplatform podcast player. By upgrading to the + plus version I can sync to my Apple Watch with zero friction and this solves the problem I had where Apple Podcasts simply didn't want to do this reliably. You can only sync one playlist ("up next") but that fits how I want to use it. Also, it syncs painlessly between devices and I have it on PC, Laptop, iPhone and watch.

This is getting a little annoying. Every few days now I need to login again in #PocketCasts. Running the latest 2.1.0 available version on macOS. What gives?

When I share an article from @wallabag, the original URL is retained. I wish #PocketCasts would do this. Hell I wish every podcast actually had its own website. #podcasting

@langhaarschneider Ja, das mag ich auch sehr an #pocketcasts. Höre auch nicht alles so schnell, manche Podcasts brauchen das entschleunigte Tempo, und englische auf Faktor 2 ist mir auch viel zu hart.

@herrthees Das mache ich auch, wenn Intros / Outros planbar sind. Kann man mit #pocketcasts auch pro Podcast definieren.

Es gibt aber auch Podcasts, da finde ich z.B. die Intro-Musik beschleunigt so geil, dass ich sie gern höre (und das Original, wenn es mir mal begegnet, grottig finde :D).

@dasaweb zweifach? Das schaffe ich nicht. Bei mehr als 1,2x habe ich Angst Dinge zu verpassen. Und ich bin froh, dass ich bei #pocketcasts die Möglichkeit habe auch settings für einzelne Podcasts zu setzen, so dass beispielsweise #StrongSongs immer in einfacher Geschwindigkeit läuft, weil Musik so viel schneller macht keinen Spaß und keinen Sinn.

Ich habe mich daran gewöhnt, schön ist es aber nicht: Als Podcast-Schnellhörer (typisch Faktor 2) höre ich auch auch Musik in Podcasts beschleunigt. Das könnte mein Podcatcher (#pocketcasts) doch erkennen und an solchen Stellen auf einfache Geschwindigkeit reduzieren, oder nicht?

@n8zug ich erinnere mich auch noch an die einfache Seite beim sharen bei #pocketcasts einfach ein Playbutton und gleich der RSS Feed vom Podcast.

Früher hat #PocketCasts beim Teilen einer Podcast-Episide eine schöne, cleane Seite mit Abspielfunktion und Link zur Seite des Podcasts generiert. Inzwischen wird versucht, die Leute dazu zu bringen, einen Account anzulegen. Ich weiß nicht, ob das nicht zu sehr stört. Aber eine andere Teilen-Methode gibt es in Pocket Casts nicht. 🙄

Was ist nun wieder kaputt? Beim Teilen poppt in #PocketCasts die Meldung auf: "Teilen ist für private Podcasts nicht verfügbar".

Ich wüßte nicht, dass ich das in Pocket Casts irgendwo einstellen könnte. Der #Fahrtensprecher ist auch kein Bezahl-Podcast, der das Verlinken zur Audio-Datei unterbinden würde. Keine Ahnung. 🤷‍♂️

@n8zug Servus @n8zug das liegt leider aktuell an #pocketcasts Hatte den Support dazu schon angeschrieben.

Ich habe in diesem Jahr 9 Tage 12 Stunden mit dem Anhören von #Podcasts verbracht.

Früher habe ich mehr gehört. Da waren das 30 Tage plus. Aber da gab es auch mehr interessante Personal-Podcasts. 🤷‍♂️

yep I just meant that it would be nice to have a term for all these types of services that eliminate the old middleman and serve both creator and fan much better.

imo decentralized social media like AP is great for recommendations and torrents are great for transferring files, but I'm trying to reference an optimal experience. getting to manage your work on your site and the fan getting to deal with it all from anywhere easily in one app.

#PocketCasts is great but doesn't do social.

Tempted to go back to #pocketcasts for my podcast player. I'm using @podcastguru but the web app is pretty tough to use.

I use the #PocketCasts app for #podcasts and love it. (The free version is great and has all you need.)

Looks like the final thing tying me to #PocketCasts is now gone. It has been further enshittified to the point where I can't transfer the information about what episodes I've listened to without a subscription.

Which means I'm looking for a new #podcast app to finally be free of them. Any suggestions?

Requirements:
Pay once (or never) to avoid all in app ads (unless in the mp3)
Ability to disable the use of mobile data.
Should download _then_ add to up next.
