Good Vibes zum Hitzesamstag… Ich bin mit #PocketCasts als Podcatcher echt zufrieden. Läuft stabil, sieht gut aus, die Entwicklung geht gut und ausreichend schnell voran (in letzter Zeit tut sich bei ziemlich Transcripten viel, brauch ich zwar nicht, aber es geht weiter 😉).

Was will man fürs persönliche #Podcast-Zuhause denn mehr? Da zahle ich mein Plus wirklich gern.

The new #PocketCasts #LiquidGlass design has made it more annoying to use. The weird little pill shape to show what is playing is so slim that it is easy to miss with a thumb. This is the same in other apps that have adopted this awful Apple design. I’m tempted to see if I can just switch to a PWA, because I don’t like worrying about triggering the wrong thing when I use audio players. #Apple UI design is just horrible these days.

Kann mich seit einem Jahr nicht mehr auf der Galaxy Watch (früher 4, jetzt 8) in #PocketCasts einloggen. Sowohl manueller Login, als auch via Google failt instantan. Habe die App sowohl auf der Uhr, als auch dem Smartphone schon frisch installiert. Vorschläge in vorhandenen Forenthreads dazu beheben es bei mir nicht.

I'm not sure canimus is the right name but podcast is weird too and I don't think we even know what to call the RSS plus enclosures format.

re a directory, I use #PocketCasts for my podcatcher and the built-in search works well. not sure what it is pulling from or how it works but yes, we eventually need that for musician sites. as decentralized as possible.

we need this same ecosystem for internet radio :)

FOSS #PocketCasts does a great job of finding every podcast I ever think to look for. I'd love a radio app that did this for #icecast streams. Being as user friendly would also be awesome.

A great episode but I wish #PocketCasts provided a better link. That would require most podcasts had their own website tho. And if I may be so bold, that the podcasters had a fedi account. It could be the same thing... @Castopod ?

TIL that #PocketCasts is available for Android. I always though it was iOS only, no idea why. I'm very happy with Antennapod, but I always loved PocketCasts, so might switch back.

I am enjoying #PocketCasts https://pocketcasts.com/ as a multiplatform podcast player. By upgrading to the + plus version I can sync to my Apple Watch with zero friction and this solves the problem I had where Apple Podcasts simply didn't want to do this reliably. You can only sync one playlist ("up next") but that fits how I want to use it. Also, it syncs painlessly between devices and I have it on PC, Laptop, iPhone and watch.

@langhaarschneider Ja, das mag ich auch sehr an #pocketcasts. Höre auch nicht alles so schnell, manche Podcasts brauchen das entschleunigte Tempo, und englische auf Faktor 2 ist mir auch viel zu hart.

@herrthees Das mache ich auch, wenn Intros / Outros planbar sind. Kann man mit #pocketcasts auch pro Podcast definieren.

Es gibt aber auch Podcasts, da finde ich z.B. die Intro-Musik beschleunigt so geil, dass ich sie gern höre (und das Original, wenn es mir mal begegnet, grottig finde :D).

@dasaweb zweifach? Das schaffe ich nicht. Bei mehr als 1,2x habe ich Angst Dinge zu verpassen. Und ich bin froh, dass ich bei #pocketcasts die Möglichkeit habe auch settings für einzelne Podcasts zu setzen, so dass beispielsweise #StrongSongs immer in einfacher Geschwindigkeit läuft, weil Musik so viel schneller macht keinen Spaß und keinen Sinn.

Ich habe mich daran gewöhnt, schön ist es aber nicht: Als Podcast-Schnellhörer (typisch Faktor 2) höre ich auch auch Musik in Podcasts beschleunigt. Das könnte mein Podcatcher (#pocketcasts) doch erkennen und an solchen Stellen auf einfache Geschwindigkeit reduzieren, oder nicht?

Früher hat #PocketCasts beim Teilen einer Podcast-Episide eine schöne, cleane Seite mit Abspielfunktion und Link zur Seite des Podcasts generiert. Inzwischen wird versucht, die Leute dazu zu bringen, einen Account anzulegen. Ich weiß nicht, ob das nicht zu sehr stört. Aber eine andere Teilen-Methode gibt es in Pocket Casts nicht. 🙄

Ich habe in diesem Jahr 9 Tage 12 Stunden mit dem Anhören von #Podcasts verbracht.

Früher habe ich mehr gehört. Da waren das 30 Tage plus. Aber da gab es auch mehr interessante Personal-Podcasts. 🤷‍♂️

yep I just meant that it would be nice to have a term for all these types of services that eliminate the old middleman and serve both creator and fan much better.

imo decentralized social media like AP is great for recommendations and torrents are great for transferring files, but I'm trying to reference an optimal experience. getting to manage your work on your site and the fan getting to deal with it all from anywhere easily in one app.

#PocketCasts is great but doesn't do social.
