You used to be able to mark posts older than a day as 'read' in inoreader. Why did they remove it??

#Inoreader — хорошая RSS-читалка, но с лимитом на полторы сотни вроде каналов, и большинство дополнительных функций платные¹, в том числе и фильтрация ленты :-( Т.е. если есть какие-то каналы, которые хочется исключить из общей ленты и читать отдельно — то НЕТ ПУТИ! Но можно сделать. Открываем «Инспектор» (так в лисице называется), ищем атрибут
data-fid, прописываем в CSS Override (или другом аддоне):div[data-fid="123456789"] {
display: none !important;

Loving Inoreader and in search of high quality RSS feeds that aren’t on the main stream. Anyone have suggestions? #rss #inoreader #rssfeeds

Looks good! I'm a user of #inoreader and I think it has the best 3-column layout (in the compact mode). It's a web app that is not so bad for an RSS reader though -

Ok so. Been using #RSS readers for a long time. Mostly #Thunderbird and some #FOSS Android apps.
Annoying to me has always been that the two don't talk to each other, and some QoL features missing. So now I am exploring #NewsBlur and #InoReader after reading that Pluralistic article. So far so good.
WHICH IS YOUR RSS READER OF CHOICE? Must work on Android & sync to an interface I can access through a browser.
Update, thank you all for the slew of responses and suggestions!! 🙏🏼

How To Use RSS Feeds
It's hard to stay well informed on the Internet. Fortunately, there is a venerable technology, RSS feeds, which you can use to curate your own news feed. -

I was able to switch off all unread-counts, badges, and alerts, too. And everything's just listed chronologically, rather than algorithmically pushing click-bate at me.
Just in the last few days, I think this is actually becoming one of my favourite things. Reducing a lot of noise and distraction without cutting off all news and media altogether.

Continued adventures in RSS...
So far so happy with Inoreader! With rules and filters to mark things as read if they don't (or do) meet certain criteria, I can subscribe to all sorts of feeds without getting bombarded with too much stuff in the main feed. While still being able to click into a particular feed if I want to, say, browse the headlines on TheJournal.ie or BBC, etc. They're there – just not all up in my face about it.
Keyword monitoring works great too.

Inoreader's 'rules' might solve the problem of too many notifications.
Basically, I'll put my busy news feeds into a folder, and add a rule to mark everything in there as read on arrival. I can still click through to see the headlines, but I'm not pestered with "new thing!!" notifications all throughout the day.
It's a 'Pro' feature on Inoreader though. Nearly €100/yr! I'll see how I get on with the 14-day trial.
It does seem a nice platform.

Giving RSS feeds another go, again again. Inoreader seems nice. It's good so far for a few blogs and YouTube subscriptions.
News sites seem more difficult though. I want a few headlines maybe throughout the day, not a notification every time a celebrity farts or a sports star scores a point.
Anyone know a good less-is-more news feed solution? Preferably Irish news.

@fistfulofdave I keep #Tapestry on apple devices, #Surf on non-apple devices, and #Inoreader on everything. If you've never tried Inoreader, I would recommend it. I think that I'm giving them $20/yr for an ad-free experience and its been worth it to me so far.

Comecei a usar e adicionei alguns jornais portugueses.

#RSS #WebFeed #ContentSyndication #Blogging #Feedly #Inoreader #RSS #TheoDõiNộiDung #Blog #Podcast

So far, I've integrated it with #Feedly, #FeedLand, and #Inoreader, which have convenient interfaces for subscribing. Kudos to #StreetPass for providing a great starting point.

For those of you who publish to a site with an RSS feed, you might be interested in this[1] site which lets users click on your RSS icon/link to go to a landing page that makes it easy to add your feed to their favorite news reader.
Eg for my own site's RSS feed it would be: https://subscribeopenly.net/subscribe/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.isaacwyatt.com%2Ffeed.xml

Just switched to Inoreader! So far, it’s been a great. But I’m disappointed they don’t have 2FA — basic security is missing here 😞🔒

Today I switched from Feedly to inoreader for my news aggregator and suddenly my Google News keyword RSS feeds started loading stories again ..... lots and lots of stories! 💻 #Feedly #Inoreader #RSSFeed

I picked a good time to switch back to #Inoreader. It just announced support for saving stuff to #Raindrop. 👍🏻👍🏻

Ooh, #Inoreader added support for file uploads a little while ago. PDF, Doc, etc.
Content is extracted and they become articles, thus organizable with their other tools.
Neat.

Last week, Mozilla announced their plans to shut down Pocket.
I spent the weekend exploring alternatives to see which ones match my needs and wrote about what I found in my blog.
A lot of options! And while not all met my needs, they may be good options for you.

I was kind of eventually expecting this, but #Pocket is closing. Just this year I made a self challenge to read 10 articles out of my saves a day to reduce it. I'm generally up to date on that, but...
I've been using Pocket since before Mozilla picked it up. Now a fire is on to reduce my saves, so exporting to wherever I go (#linkwarden ? #readeck ? #inoreader ? or other) will be easier.
I didn't need the extra work though.
-
Might go back to #Inoreader from Reeder. I miss a couple Inoreader features but I’m also disappointed that Reeder’s dev simply never responds to customer emails. Poor form

I'm once again looking for a read-it-later/article archive tool. I think I've tried them all by now and I'm amazed that for such a basic task there's no good solution. I think my demands are very reasonable:
– article content extraction (not just bookmarks) and comfortable reader
– full text search over the entire archive
– website and Android app with synchronization between them
– not a whole lot of random unrelated features like todo lists or whatever thrown in for no reasonI was using Pocket for many years and even paid for the "premium" (which basically got me a few extra fonts because the "premium" features like tag suggestions didn't work), however Pocket got worse and worse at article extraction, to the point where it just opened to website instead of showing the extracted text for more than half of the saved articles. Also no one seems to actively work on it it seems. Pretty much the same problems with Instapaper. I tried Feedly and Inoreader which kinda works I guess but they're primarily RSS readers, which I don't need. raindrop.io does extract article texts but shows them only in the Android app, in a browser it'll still open the website, also the full text search doesn't work reliability. Then there's Wallabag but that seems very Alpha and I don't want to host the service myself. Tried a bunch more which I can't remember right now.
As a temporary solution I'm now saving articles to @notesnook since I'm using that for notes anyway. Article extraction works alright but there's no way to archive notes, so it's all cluttered with articles now and I can barely find my own notes anymore.
If anyone knows of a tool that reliably does all the things mentioned above, please let me know!

@krinkle Excellent idea! I just spent the last half hour copying my 50ish subs to my #inoreader list, and am looking forward to using it as a better interface.
