  1. I bet most Canadians would be shocked to hear that nationally, only 9% - 11% of what we toss into our blue boxes gets recycled.

I just heard that stat in an interview today with Dalhousie University professor Tony Walker on CBC's The Current. #Environment #Sustainability #PlasticsBan

  2. Hey @Dow_Canada, @ImperialOil, & @NOVAChemicals, stop fighting Canada's progress on plastic pollution. Right now, >90% of plastic ends up as garbage or litter--where it wreaks havoc on wildlife🐢🦦. I want real solutions, not more pollution! #StopBigPlastic

Energy has gone into this packaging, and it just goes to adding to landfill.

  5. Holiday treat. Popped in to Guzman Y Gomez Mexican kitchen at Campbellfield Plaza on a shopping trip (by bicycle).

I ordered a mini enchilada to have there with a coffee.
Food provided in a takeaway bargasse packaging with plastic knife and fork and the coffee in a Biopak cup. I was hoping to get served on a real plate and in a real ceramic or glass cup. 🧵1/4

  6. CW: Single-use plastics will be banned in Victoria from the 1st of February 2023

The ban applies to single-use plastic drinking straws, cutlery, plates, drink stirrers and cotton bud sticks made from conventional, degradable, and compostable plastics. The ban also applies to food service items and drink containers made from expanded polystyrene.

People who need single-use plastic drinking straws due to a disability or for a medical need can still purchase and use these items.
