  1. I use #Syncthing to backup photos from our phones to my raspberry pi and my laptop which works great. syncthing.net ftw

Any recommendations though for an open source photo gallery kind of software on the raspberry pi to be able to browse the libraries? It should not "organize" them or need an import or whatever. Preferably I just want to point it at a folder and be able to view stuff in the browser.

quick search lead me to e.g. #Photoview and #LibrePhotos

  2. Trying out PhotoPrism on my server since yesterday, seems pretty good. Trying to replace Google Photos with something ...

Aaaand after searching the hashtag I found out about , gotta try that too now :ac_pleased:

  3. @andrew I've got about 350GB in #selfhosted #Photoview. I also liked #photoprism too. I really liked the idea of #librephotos but couldn't get it to work on my NAS as #docker containers for some reason. Will try again at some point!

  4. @mikey another vote for #syncthing from me. I also use #photoview for pictures. The big one for me is notes; I used Evernote for years, but then they got hacked and became $. I now self host a #joplin instance, and it's just perfect. Have a bit of #pihole action too. Oh, and a #radicale container for contacts/calendars/tasks rather than use The Google.

  5. My instance is super glitchy, can't get past the login page and it it getting on my nerves, perhaps I should just go back to ...

  6. ended up creating a little script to recursively create symlinks to my compressed image directories for my instance

  7. I forgot to mention that the <album> directory names contain spaces and special characters 🤦‍♂️

  8. Need a way to navigate through my pictures directory and create symlinks to the <album>/compressed directores recursively.

The simlinks will live on library directory photoview points to

    Question is: or script?
(Noob when it comes to bash)

  9. Photoview is a simple and user friendly photo gallery that's made for photographers and aims to provide an easy and fast way to navigate directories, with thousands of high-resolution photos.

  10. Malheureusement, je n'ai pas pu installer #photoview. Le processus d'installation a été interrompu par une saturation de la RAM et du CPU.
