If it is not 32-bit, it would benefit the most. 32-bit boards are faster and more accurate, so this would benefit all printers and have the most benefit if you have an 8-bit board.

All prints in this thread were done on a #Creality #CR6SE, which is 32-bit, and you can see the increased performance. So imagine on an 8-bit.

  2. @xerxesshouldnthavewon A couple of days ago, I was lurking on /r/UltrawideMasterRace (salivating over some of those 32:9 monitors) and I saw a post with a wallpaper.

That was some real nostalgia from... about a decade ago? I can’t even keep track anymore, to be honest.

  4. A very interesting effort to preserve the iPod click-wheel games: using a virtual machine that can sync them to an iPod! 47 out of the 54 total released games are available.

I only had Spore Origins myself, but I lost the installation file. Can’t wait to install and play it again on my iPod nano 3rd gen 😌

  5. Lately there's been more and more RAR'd torrents being downloaded by my NAS, and Radarr/Sonarr can't import those.

Just found out about "unpackerr", which automatically unpacks everything in your downloads folder. It is working pretty well! It has a whole backlog to go through now 😅

  10. Writing a script to sort ROM collections into folders based on the first letter of their name, to help me navigate them faster in the EZ-Flash Jr than having 500 pages.

The EZ Flash seems to behave weirdly with many folders though, either can’t open them or can’t scroll all the way down. For now the GBC collection works, but not the GB one (sorted in similar way).

Had to merge folders with few ROMs together too…

  15. Really like this IPS screen on my Gameboy Color, it’s the same size as the original and didn’t require trimming the shell, so I used the original transparent one.

Also like the pixel effects, the vertical lines option makes it look the most like the original screen in my eyes.

  16. Pretty happy with it so far!

The audio is the same as the old unit, and now I don’t need to have my phone on a stand anymore as I can have both maps and music on the same screen and it looks cleaner.

Google Maps was a bit slow on the old unit, so I only used it to run music streaming and stuff, and had maps on my phone.

  18. Swapped my car’s head unit this weekend. I was prepared so it took less than 4 hours this time!

First pic is the old one, it ran Android 8 and had physical buttons and a volume knob.

The new one just has wireless CarPlay & Android Auto (and radio) with no other OS.
Because it has no volume knob and I really like it, I got their wireless steering wheel control and stuck it on the dashboard, as it has a rotating volume wheel around the buttons 😂

  20. @[email protected] Agreed, that’s a legit reason tbh.

I’m not de-googling myself so far, but for YouTube I’ve been enjoying Invidious a lot for a few months now. Just make sure to keep it up to date!

There’s also open source Android & iOS apps that are good for it ( & are my preference)

  21. Seems my Galaxy Flip’s screen died too early to make it worth buying, but just in time so I get to experience the launch of @altstore on my new iPhone!

My previous iPhone was the 3G, skipped all the lightning versions 😛

  22. My Gameboy Pocket has reached its final form :coolmsn:

I added some cool buttons from Labfifteenco (transparent with white on top) and stickers on the back! Only the serial number sticker is original though.

Pretty happy with this build! When it’s within budget, I want to do similar stuff to my GBC now 😅

Also got buttons for my GBA from the same place, but that will be another post as it needs some more fixes as well.

  23. It seems Zedlabz has released an OLED screen replacement for the GameBoy Color: zedlabz.com/products/oled-lami

Pretty interesting as I am looking at upgrading my GBC at some point, but not sure about it's longevity. Don't want to put a screen that will yellow/burn-in in 5 years on a 25 year old device 😛

  24. Gameboy status update :blobcatbolb:

Installed an IPS display & swapped the shell on the Gameboy Pocket that had a bad screen.

Managed to transfer the serial # sticker from the old shell, but not the larger sticker. Waiting for replacements to arrive...

Also purchased 4 rechargeable lithium AAA's since this thing seems to eat normal batteries in around 2 hours lol.

It works great and the install was pretty easy! Very happy with it!

  25. Found a version of Marlin firmware for my Neptune 2S 3D printer and installed it today. Everything went fine!

It adds various stuff, the most immediate ones for me are a much better bed levelling wizard, and the better communication with OctoPrint. Also, there is no extremely loud beep when turning on the printer, yay 😅

This is the repo for it: github.com/just-trey/Marlin/tr
