Purple pearl barley. 1/
This is more than 1/2 my harvest in a 1x2ft space. I won’t grow it again. For the space it takes up and time it takes to grow, it barely makes one serving.
I used normal home compost for fert and it was grown next to beans. My veg need to perform well with this for me to consider replanting and these did not.

Today's lengthy but really important read is about #Phosphogeddon. #Phosphorus is really important in growing food. But it's also scarce and our farming methods are way to loose with it resulting in Dead Zones & toxic algae.
We need to pivot to #RegenerativeAg and other #Permaculture methods immediately.
