I associate this card with holding on too hard/hoarding/grasping at money and material things…but maybe also a more prudent attitude toward saving?

Indulgence doesn’t feel so good if it comes with a queasy side of worrying whether you can continue to meet your obligations—or if you’re robbing yourself of more profound future joys by indulging the whim of the moment.

Interpreting The V of Pentacles for myself this evening, it does feel a little on the nose. 😬 My spending has been prodigal. I’ve impulse-purchased stuff I probably shouldn’t have, and I’ve indulged a lot (e.g. the mani-pedi I got earlier this afternoon.)

In the aftermath of the most intense couple months of my career, I think I’ve been very ready to cut loose and treat myself…

Gonna try to get back to pulling a #tarot card every day. Today's is the 2 of #Pentacles from the Spellcaster's Tarot. Usually, I read this card in the traditional sense of balance, either struck or needing to be.

However, I note this time that the log the juggler stands on is knobbly-- if it did roll beneath them, it's not likely to move far. They can focus on keeping the balls in the air. They pay no more heed to the log than to the dog, approaching with a bag in its mouth, or the ships in the water behind. All these things will eventually demand the juggler's attention, but for the present, it is the internal, self-imposed task on which the eyes are focused.

This feels like a good reminder to make sure that I am properly balancing the cares of my environment and the world with my own, as well as to find space to do the things that I enjoy-- which has been tough this past week while caring for a sick baby.

On tonight's drawing board: Four more #Tarot cards. I haven't drawn this many pentagrams since I was a kid doodling on my school work in class. 😂
