A further 40,000 protestors, men and women, form a human chain linking #Greenham to #Aldermaston and Burghfield.

“For as long as he can remember, #BaselAdra has been capturing his community’s slow eradication and displacement from Masafer Yatta in the #WestBank, #Palestine. His camera, always by his side on the frontlines, documents the escalating and evolving forms of aggression over time. The lens captures events, moments in between, and the longitudinal nature of this struggle. It falls to the ground, remains active, and is picked up by an offscreen body—Basel’s—as he runs, the image persists. The lens demands that we impassively bear witness. #YuvalAbraham, an Israeli activist and journalist, unwaveringly supports Basel and the community, yet the limitations of their relationship, given their disproportionately unequal lived experiences, begin to reveal themselves."

    #Bangor Stand-Out

    Wednesday, September 11, 2024
    12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

    Penobscot County Democratic Party
    207 Exchange Street
    Bangor, ME, 04401
    United States

"We normally hold a vigil/standout every Wednesday from noon-12:30 PM at the corner of Harlow and Central Streets (across from where the old and eventually renovated Bangor City Hall stands and near Peirce Park) to support a ceasefire, an end to the killing in Gaza and of all Palestinians, and a stop to all US weapons shipments to the Israeli government. The vigil/standout will take place as usual on September 4 and again September 18, 25, etc. JOIN US!

"However, on September 11, 2024, 12 noon-12:30 PM (maybe later), we will stand outside the headquarters of the Penobscot County Democratic Party at 207 Exchange Street (about 1 1/2 blocks from our usual location) and hope to have a conversation with #MaineDemocrats in or coming to the office about the current policy of failure to achieve a ceasefire and the continued US government support for the Israeli military and settler attacks against Palestinians, especially in Gaza but also on the West Bank. (Anyone who wishes to stand in our usual location of Harlow and Center Streets is welcome to do so.) Bring signs, or we will have some available also. We hope some media will also be present."
