#Books I just began reading Boleyn Traitor by Philippa Gregory. I thought I needed some historical fiction, and why not some Tudor hijinks? I’m sure bodies will burn and heads will roll, literally. Morning. Right now I’m reserving the good. I’m not in a great headspace to start the day. #OrangeJulius is getting rid of the Epartment of Education by snapping his fingers today. It was clear this was going to happen, he made no secret of it even in his campaign, but it still hits hard for me. What will this mean for issues like #IDEA (which the Education Secretary was ignornat of) and Section 504? I fear nothing good. The rhetoric seems to be that giving control back to the states will be a wonderful thing. Sure, if you live in a state like #Washington or #California where education is actually valued. I’m not expecting the same here in #Tennessee where I fear for disabled students.

@BlueBeachSong For me this brought to mind the times back in 2020 during the #pandemic when #OrangeJulius demanded thank-yous for even flying vaccines into blue states, by definition the absolute least he could do.

@JonChevreau I’m kind of getting the feeling that we may all be falling for a bait-and-switch. #OrangeJulius is as horrible and monstrous as ever, but there is now someone who is actually overtaking him in the worst person in the world sweepstakes. #Musk is acting like an out-of-control megalomaniac. I don’t think it’s out of the realm of the possibility that at some point #Musk gets shoved overboard, a lot of what he’s done getting repudiated, and #Trump coming out looking pretty good by comparison. Just a thought.

@Npars01 @palin @heartofcoyote @bebadefabo @GottaLaff It’s so incredibly ironic that in the run-up to the election so much was made about the price of eggs, so expensive, why doesn’t Biden do anything, it’s out of control, blah blah, and my memory is #OrangeJulius said a few things indicating he’d fix it all in short order. Not exactly how it worked out.

@aaron.rupar Hasn’t this idea that people who work remotely aren’t really working been debunked ad nauseam? I have long been of the opinion that underlings who are forced to work in office create another level of bureaucracy above them, those whose main job it is to crack the whip on the underlings. So I guess this is who #OrangeJulius is siding with. Also, is he guilty of some self-disclosure here?

One more post because something dawned on me. Rich and entitled people have their own versions of #DEI that nobody talks about but everybody knows about. I mean the mediocre high school student whose dad, granddad, and three generations before that went to #Harvard. It’s the son or nephew or daughter-in-law of a CEO who has a six-figure job when they probably couldn’t get hired at Cracker Barrel. Heck, #OrangeJulius hands out this version of #DEI hires all the time. And now, I really mean it, goodnight.

It’s time for me to log off of online everything and head into the bedroom so my bride and I can continue binging #CSI Crime Scene Investigation. We are into Season 3. Sometimesit’s good to visit fantasy worlds where things are resolved in 42 minutes. And then I go to sleep and get up in the morning and go through another cycle of #WTF and wish with everything in me that I could just get up and leave this place. You know what this kind of feels like? #OrangeJulius is a slumlord doing all he can to make life unlivable for most, until we either leave or die, and then him and his filthy rich ilk can live it up until, of course, everyone perishes because of the #ClimateCrisis but, oh, I forgot, they’ll all be headed to Mars. We finally made it over to the Valley Relics Museum (https://valleyrelicsmuseum.org/), even though it is just “up the street” from where we live. There were a lot of great artifacts including a huge neon sign collection. Check it out when you are at a loss for something to do in the San Fernando Valley.
