The deer really seem to be way more numerous in Northern #orangecountync this year. I know I'm probably paying a lot more attention because I take #chaosaussiesauce off leash into the yard to play ball, and definitely do not have "I'm going to herd that deer" recall
This Sasquatch quality photo is one of three bucks about the same size as this one (8 points? 12 points if I didn't have photo evidence? 😆) in the yard yesterday at the same time, which I've never seen before in 13 years here.

Hitting these shaded areas that stay well below freezing has to be tough. You'd have to do the salt/sand thing prior to any sun angle changes - then send in the plows(*)

My particular secondary road in #orangecountync #ncdot really doesn't seem to have the resources or the organizational capacity at this time to have gotten out in front of this one
The trope that people like to express is that #ncdot never gets out in front - which is definitely not true - it just seems maddeningly inconsistent
Between the coming snow and long-range 8-14 day outlook from the NWS - the rural areas of the county are going to be treacherous for probably another week+half #ncwx

Interesting: #orangecountync sent out this email notice to the Board of Commissioners notification list this afternoon around 2pm (The list gets county board meeting announcements, public notices regarding the board, that sort of thing)
The Board is in an emergency closed session tonight, which is a bit unusual in my memory.
Guessing there will be some County-related news coming soon 🤷
