  1. Hello @oriol_gomez92
Recently you've added Shared notes backed by #NoteLab into the #SonicRoom.
Is the NoteLab also self-hostable? I am unable to find its code repository. Can you please point me to it?

For others SonicRoom is a nice, self-hostable audio sharing app running in the browser. The instance I am hosting for my-self and friends is at c.pvagner.sk and the source code is at github: ogomez92/sonicroom.

  3. Pen vs. Keyboard?

It’s not the tool that makes you wise,
But how you think and synthesize.
Forget the myth of pen or key—
    Your method shapes your mastery.

✅ The Fact: The effectiveness of note-taking depends on how we engage with content—not on whether we use a pen or a keyboard.

🦄 The Myth: “Handwritten notes are inherently better for learning than digital notes.”

  4. You can’t install a mind that’s wise,
No template sees through your own eyes.
True PKM is built, not bought—
It grows with every well-linked thought.

🦄 The Myth: “With the right prebuilt system, your PKM is done—for-you and for good”

✅ The Fact: Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) is a dynamic practice of thinking, learning, and sense-making—not a static product you can buy off the shelf. No system can think for you.

  5. Many believe, “I don’t have time for Personal Knowledge Management (PKM).”

The truth? PKM saves time. Yes, it takes some upfront effort, but small, consistent steps lead to compounding benefits: faster retrieval, better learning, less wasted work.

What’s your best tip for managing knowledge efficiently?

  6. Having the latest tool won’t make you more productive if your system is flawed. It’s like believing a sharper knife turns someone into a master chef, writes @StefanTSiegel at #NoteLab.

There is no perfect tool for personal knowledge management—and there never will be. What matters is how you use the tool(s) ⬇

  7. Tools for thought ≠ just apps.

PKM isn’t new—and it isn’t just digital. From notebooks to mind maps, analog tools still play a powerful role in how we think, write, and learn.

Don’t let shiny new toys and apps distract from solid thinking and meaning making.

    Stay tuned. #notizlab #NoteLab

  10. Is teaching-related knowledge management just about saving files? Think again! 🧐

By rethinking TKM, you can use its potentials of it for teaching, learning and your professional development.

  11. Architect, Gardener, or Librarian: Which type of notetaker are you?

Just like there are no fixed types of learning styles (though the myth is still out there), maybe there isn't a fixed type of notetaker, either, writes Stefan Siegel at #NoteLab:

  12. @publicvoit I would agree!

I would consider myself rather as a professional learner and knowledge worker than as an expert.

In recommendation 2, I tried to address this briefly. Thanks for sharing your text.

At #NoteLab David and I primarily use @obsidian because:
    - plain text based
    - local storage of your files
    - allows bi-directional links
    - customizeability via plugins...
    - great fuzzy search

  13. Use Whatever Works. Why You Don’t Need a Sophisticated System for Effective Knowledge Management.

To promote effective PKM, consider the following:
    1. Start Simple
    2. Be Intentional with Tools and Features
    3. Focus on Concepts and Practices, Not Tools

  15. Think You Don’t Manage Your Knowledge? Think Again!

Every day, whether through a simple notebook or other tools for thought, we are all engaging in some form of personal #knowledge #management (#PKM). But are you aware of them, and are you leveraging your tools to their fullest potential?

Empower yourself to recognize and refine your PKM system to extend your #cognition and achieve your professional and personal goals more efficiently.

  17. From Hieroglyphs to #Hyperlinks: Why #Knowledge #Management Is as Old as Time and Not a New Phenomenon

Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) is often portrayed and perceived as a modern phenomenon, especially in the context of the so-called #digitalage and the #informationage. However, the roots of PKM are ancient, extending back to the earliest forms of human communication and record-keeping.

  25. Knowledge Management “is unfairly perceived as old-fashioned, archaic, conservative, and unattractive”
    (Lima et al., 2023).
