Managed to somehow toast two #nspanel #nextion screens in one night. The first had been working for years on the wall and suddenly started locking up and bootlooping until the screen stopped working. I swapped the 2nd one in and it was working fine for an hour before suffering a similar fate. The esp32 on each is still accessible. Tried a complete flash and reformat but the screens are unresponsive. Swapped in another switch for now but I wish I understood what went wrong. No magic smoke.

My lunch box #MMDVM hat has had added 3.5" #Nextion enhanced display to the lid, also added a 24V fan for air circulation. The power to all this is via a 12V to 5V buck converter and the fan is connected to the 12V input to that, and the Pi and MMDVM Dual at is connected to the USB socket with short cable.
Also has room to have a battery bank to be add to it in the future if needed
