  1. Starting in 12 minutes I'll be participating in the upcoming #NAQP #CW #AmateurRadio contest on the Braille team. Watch for NU7I on the 10M, 15M and 20M bands as propagation and time allow. #HamRadio

  2. According to Reverse Beacon results, it looks like 10M is completely dead, 15M is very short and 20M is there but ho-hum, so #HF propagation from my location in central #AZ may be mediocre for the upcoming #NAQP #CW contest. All that to say I'm ready and I'll do the best I can to represent Braille Team #2! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  3. Someone was deliberately jamming a young woman who was working contacts on 20M in this weekend's #SSB #NAQP contest. This is ridiculous behavior that has no place at all in the #AmateurRadio service. Its times like these when I think every commercial rig should be made so it transmits a unique identifier so its owner can be tracked even when they refuse to give their callsign. Remember there's no fair expectation of anonymity in Amateur Radio. #HamRadio

  4. Today I'll be dipping in and out of the upcoming North American QSO Party #NAQP #SSB #AmateurRadio #HamRadio contest so that my daughters get a chance to understand more about the hobby in general and contesting specifically. This is much easier using voice than on my preferred Morse Code mode.

  5. It turns out my #Summer North American QSO Party #NAQP #CW contest performance wasn't quite as good as the #Winter contest. I made 148 contacts with 67 multipliers across only the 15M and 20M bands over an operating time of 8 hours for a total score of 9916. That's significantly down from my 215 total contacts in the winter contest. Conditions turned out to be fabulous, though, as I was able to work almost every station I heard on the first or second try. I'll take it! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  6. I'm getting ready to participate in the Braille Team #2 for this weekend's upcoming North American QSO Party #NAQP #CW Contest. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  7. Taking a brief break from the #NAQP.

    Doing reasonably well this year.

  8. Wow! My 20M performance in this weekend's #NAQP #CW contest is quite incredible given my antenna has a 2.3:1 SWR on that band. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  9. I participated in the #NAQP #CW contest on Braille Team 1 where I made 215 contacts and 101 multipliers across the 40M, 20M, 15M and 10M bands for a total score of 21715. Domestic propagation was very good this year and I made far more 20M contacts than I expected. See 3830scores.com/showrumor.php?a for my 3830 Scores submission. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  10. Kids heading out for a fun scavenger hunt activity at an outdoor mall while I'm putting the finishing touches on preparing for today's upcoming #NAQP #CW contest. Let's go Team Braille! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #blind #Braille

  11. My goal in #NAQP #CW this year is at least 200 QSOs individually and at least twice that number for Team Braille. I like the Solar terrestrial indices I am seeing right now and I hope they last at least through the contest. Go Team Braille! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #Accessibility #blind #Braille

  12. It is official... I will be participating in Saturday's #NAQP #CW contest as a member of Team Braille. I hope to work as many of you as possible. My callsign is NU7I and I will be using the name Ron. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

  13. I recently did the #RTTY North American QSO Party (#NAQP) and had the best performance contesting since I placed 3rd in region for the 1987 Novice Roundup. Still don't know scores yet but I think I did better-than-mean.

I'm now considering doing the #ARRL #SSB International #DX Contest (arrl.org/arrl-dx). The weather is supposed to be crap tonight through Saturday (ice, snow, rain) so look for me in the bands.

  14. Looks like I'll miss out on #naqp because of the rain (no antenna at home), but I'm hoping it'll be nice next weekend for some #vhf action.
    Also, I think I'll need a #sota fix soon...

  15. Spent some time yesterday operating the awesome K5TR #hamradio contest station in the Texas Hill Country and just getting on the air a bit. Accidentally had a pileup of people wanting to work me on 20m, which was a new experience.

I've had pileups before, but usually when I was operating a special event or something. Not just getting on the air to make contacts.

I had a lot of fun. Likely to work #NAQP from there next year.
