I might be in my 40s but snow is still definitely a novelty for me. I try to get out for one or two #sota activations where there is snow but this year I’ve been busy and time is running out. Activated Mt St Phillack (VK3/ VT-006) on Saturday and was plenty boggy towards the end from snow melt, light rain while on summit, got 30 contacts including W6LEN on 17m CW

First #sota for about a year. Skiddaw was its usual cold / windy self with what looked like some recently thawed ice....so activation was short. Visibility was excellent for once.
Little Sally dog came with us and had a lovely time.

#SOTA summit № 760/1000 today: Le Besso 3669 m (https://sotl.as/summits/HB/VS-266). After yesterday's 2000 m ascent to Les Diablons, this was another 2000 m day trip. The difference being that yesterday's route was easy and straightforward along a ridge, whereas today the top 400 m were spent in the south face, negotiating steep couloirs and narrow ledges to find the ideal (solo-friendly) route. It was a long day! 😇
