This is, of course, the language of decades past. Today's use of language by politicians is more extreme and blatant.

I can't help but to be impressed with the notes George Carlin must have taken in the lead-up to the writing of this monologue.

Good morning to all here on Mindly, and across the Fediverse!

Today as I think back over this year and even across decades past, I think about how our elected leaders use language.

The late, great, George Carlin said it best in his speech at the National Press Club on May 13th, 1999.

Interestingly, I am on #mindly #mindlysocial server... yet most of what I see in my home feed is from #hachyderm

Is that because of who I follow, and the hashtags? I am very much in the #opensource world, so it makes sense, just curious if I should switch servers!

I’m curious as to what drew people to their chosen server? I will confess I chose #mindly.social because my medicated brain originally misread it as mildly social which pretty much sums up my attitude to people. Exploring the site though I feel lucky to have found this server as i feel more at home on the local feed than the federated as it seems to attract more people who are just here to chat and socialise rather than those who just want to build their brand/broadcast #mastodon #newbie
