As currently worded, the #MediaBill poses significant threats to the sustainability of local and community radio, especially those stations which cater to underserved minority groups. Better Media member Dr Rob Watson outlines some very serious concerns in this useful summary.

@michael_robinson Yes, well that's effectively coming back in with the Online Safety regime (that's the same regime that repeals the DEA) - that doesn't deal with the problem of enforcement of the criminal law though. I guess if we are thinking about this area we should also think about the changes proposed in the draft #MediaBill (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/draft-media-bill). That proposes to deal with the jurisdictional limits that were the reason the original VOD rules didn't aply to overseas porn providers.
