Seen this once before; I'm *not* on #MastodondotSocial

Wondering if maybe it's a cheap-and-each way for #MastoSoc moderators to deal with the obvious (from my perspective on the outside) problem MastoSoc has with #Spam and #Porn accounts

Put it all on you so they don't have to make any decisions...

If the #Fediverse is gonna freak out every time there's a little #spam it's #ngmi.

There's a golden hoarde of 4chan weebs who want nothing more than to watch the world burn, ready to do any thing that will get them some attention.

Don't be their lolcow. Just mute the hashtags for a while and get over it.

by the way, of all suggested solutions, this is probably the best one. not only does it solve the issue, but it also makes onboarding for new users *easier* not harder.
bringing up the various instances this way is the perfect introduction to the subject of federation, with the idea of different communities managed by different people being super clear.

Well, this is disappointing.
People raised very good concerns about #mastosoc being the default instance in the mobile app, and came up with very good suggestions of what to do instead and how to promote decentralisation while keeping ease of use.
Yet the response from #Mastodon appears to be to double down on the choice to make mastosoc the default, even as it approaches being 20% of the userbase.
I expected better. I'll know not to next time.

Aus aktuellem Anlass ...

Ich denke, das mit dem Mobilfunk ist den Leuten nicht zuzumuten. Es ist viel zu kompliziert, denn es gibt mehrere Anbieter und die Leute sind überfordert damit, sich zu entscheiden. Daher nutzen es wohl auch so wenige - es ist einfach nicht massenkompatibel. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Das ist doch eine zu große Einstiegshürde mit mehreren Anbietern! Könnte es da nicht eine offizielle App geben, die einen einfach zum größten Anbieter führt? 👉 🆗
